Reseting Engine Codes

I've heard you can manually reset codes by holding in trip button for period of time is this true anybody know

 

I have code p1130 and code p1685 I've changed both fuel filters so far, wondering if the 1685 code for security is linked to my power door not working but I doubt it

you can also do this by taking off neg battery terminal leave for 5 minutes reconnect this will do it 

make sure you have radio code

I took off the black cable for nearly an hour when I put it back on radio didn't need code and even remembered it's pre set settings
