2007 key fob not working with new battery

Hi

I changed the battery on my 2007 Grand Voyager and it’s now not working. I have one other working key fob.

I’ve looked online and tried various ignition on off procedures with no joy.

any ideas please?

I assume you mean you've changed the battery in the fob and not the battery i the car.

Suggest you try another battery - ensure it's inserted the correct way around... If that doesn't work try cleaning the contacts in the fob.

There is no easy way to reprogram the fob to the vehicle it's all SKIM magic and I don't know f any resources in the UK - does anyone else ?

it was the fob battery - I’ve also tried two new batteries so I’ll clean the contacts tomorrow. Thanks

Yes - to re-programme the key, if it needs it, you will need the services of a good auto locksmith, not a duff one. But if it worked before it should be OK. 

 

You can also try removing the IOD (Ignition Off Draw) fuse for 20 to 30 minutes to give it a bit of a wakeup, I've done that too for various things.

 

I've said this on here a couple of times, I had a second hand 5 button remote coded to ours by a great guy, after the local "shop front" company claimed it was main dealer only and would have to be a NEW remote.
