Faulty Reversing Camera

Hello all, hopefully someone can help me - I see a few people have started posting

 

I have a 2009 model which seems to have an issue with the reversing camera - I shift into R and it switches on OK, however it's pretty much useless. It's so blury I can't see anything, is there a way to focus it, or am I looking at a replacement?

 

Looking forward to a reply, I really don't want to pay Chrysler to check it over! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

 

The camera focus is set and can't be adjusted, however due to the location of the camera it's not uncommon for the lense to be obscured by dirt.

 

Have a look at your rear number plate at the top left you will see the camera unit, if you wipe the lense with a cloth and ensure it is free from any dirt, it should make the image a lot clearer

Had this issue on the camper I rented last month - same as Alan says, just needed a bit of a clean

Great, let us know how you get on. Embarrassingly, looking at the photo I posted of my reversing camera, you can see just how dirty it gets, especially as I only cleaned mine a week ago!

Well you do certainly seem to be the Voyager Genius! You were correct, it had just got a bit grimy.

 

Quick wipe with a wet rag and I could see again!
