Rossocorsa
Lots of steam puffing out my air con condenser seems to have sprung a leak Edited May 11, 2015 by Rossocorsa
0 MikeyRules
Oh no that's not good! Are you still under warranty?
0 Rossocorsa
No but I think it's probably been hit by a stone unlucky as it would have to be aimed quite accurately to get through the grille
0 Nello
Is your undertray intact Alan? It would be a very unlucky blow to get through the grille.........I've yet to own a single car with it fitted where the AC has not given me any problems........ 0 Rossocorsa
yes should all be there, i don't know if it is from a stone but the leak is from an area of the matrix, with the A/C switched off there isn't a leak so it's just when the compressor runs. Now need to think how to fix it genuine part from fiat is over 300 quid but can get marelli item for about 110 or spurious one for about 80 for now just running with A/C off Edited May 12, 2015 by Rossocorsa
0 MikeyRules
The Marelli one surely will be as good if not better than OEM I would have thought...
0 Rossocorsa
The Marelli one surely will be as good if not better than OEM I would have thought...I imagine it will be identical. I haven't had any time to investigate further it doesn't seem to leak significantly when the compressor isn't engaged so using the car is fine in the current cool weather. The condenser seems to be sandwiched between the inter cooler and the coolant radiator so I imagine it might be a pain to remove.
0 Nello
Yep thats where they usually are Alan - As you say normally the whole lot has to come out including the Rad..........
0 MikeyRules
Yep as above... When I was seeking 300bhp/500nm out of my Spider we had to re-shuffle the deck so to speak to get the intercooler to sit at the front... was a right PITA as all they are all stacked together! 0 stuartmunn
What did you do with your 300bhp when you found it ?
0 MikeyRules
We never found it Stuart.... 274bhp and 427lbtf... was the optimum after that it became un-drivable! Edited May 15, 2015 by MikeyRules
