Fuel Problem Grand Voyager

Question

hi have 3.3 53 reg grand voyager

when i drive along and get to 40 mph my car seems to have no power this doesnt happen all the time could be couple days inbetween episodes

car is regulary serviced 

thought the fuel filter was blocked but told by 2 garages its lifetime filter 

the problem only happens for few seconds and only on open road when i accelerate

anyone have any ideas have just replaced both o2 senors 

my car triggers 0171 code and 0134 codes

which is fuel system too lean bank 1

and upstream o2 senser which has been replaced

The filters aren't lifetime filters they can be changed, diesel one can but not sure about petrol ones, check online with a parts supplier enter your reg and it'll come up with service parts that can be changed. If they can't be changed then they won't sell it, double check with a chrysler garage to make sure. Sound to me like you have a flat spot in the engine which sounds like filter but as its not there all the time I would try to pressure test the fuel system including injectors.

hi thanks i have used injector cleaner i spoke to chrysler they sell filter so will look into changing that my fuel filter sits on top of tank so have to lower it to replace am gonna speak to garage monday as to regards testing fuel pressure thanks

hi the problem with my car was intermittant fault with upstream o2 senser earth wire 

where it meets in the loom with downstream o2 senser the wires meet in loom 

auto electrican had to strip loom down to find fault as it was intermittant 

found it to be earth wire then he ran a bypass to the chassis this fixed it

my mpg up by 5 mpg in town 8 mpg on run

took 4 hours to do 

had to take out battery egr valve to get to loom
