Son Needs Held With Sebring Cv

Hi guys I'm a newbie to this forum but an oldie to American cars, I'm looking for a little advice help or a direction on this, My youngest son bought a 2009 Chrysler Sebring convertible with the 2lt crd (VW Audi) lump 6 speed manual box.

Over the last few weeks its developed a vibration rattle and now a metalic screetch coming from the passenger side inboard CV joint.

We checked it out the smallest hole in the CV boot seems to have let out the good stuff and now the joint is toast.

Thing is we cant find one new used even just changing the inboard CV instead of the entire shaft unit, I doubt very much its a bespoke item just for that vehicle I have heard a rumour the Avenger is the same but no one can confirm.

Since its a VW Audi unit i wondered if it was the same as a Golf or Audi A3 or something similar.

If anyone has come across this problem could you please let me know.
