0 Perrymgbv8 Posted June 3, 2021 Report Share Posted June 3, 2021 HiTypically you will hear a clonk and see the rpm drop a little when you turn the AC on. You can also have a look at the compressor to see if the centre of the pulley is rotating. Follow the left hand pipe from the condenser coil. This will show you where the compressor is if you have not already seen it. The belt spins the outside of the pulley all the time. When the ac is turned on, you should see the hub of the pulley turning. If the system is short of refrigerant gas, the compressor will not run. When the ac is turned on, the compressor will cycle off and on via a pressure switch on the suction / low pressure side of the system depending on system pressure.
