Beeping Noise/battery Draining

Grand Chrysler 2003 3.3 ltr petrol, bought from new

 

Hi

 

I have a strange problem. My car recently has a battery draining problem. When I turn off the engine I have a beeping problem, I have to turn off my lights slowly and turn off the engine without opening the doors and this seems to stop the beeping. If I do not do this the battery drains overnight.

 

My garage says it is a central processing unit/electrical fault, that will costs thousands of pounds to fix.

 

Is this a known fault?

are  you sure its not just the key not turning off correctly 

mine 2003 and sometime when taking keys out it keeps beep when doors open as if i left keys in or lights on

As above, ensure key is taken out in the off position. If the barrel is worn the key can just be removed any position keeping ign or aux on.
