0 QinteQ
It's your choice I use 5/30 full synth. Chrysler manual says 5/40 but even here in top north east we hardly ever get -10C. Cheepo to full synthetic is a price decision. Filters change equally critical. I'm an infrequent driver, I use full synth for engine protection. Your choice. Best of luck. 0 CRD28AUTO
I had my oil changed last time at National Tyre (usually do it myself but had no time before my holiday). They used a top notch filter and Lukoil Genesis 5w40 fully synthetic oil. Cost about £65 all in. The guy left it to drain a good hour as well. Seems good oil. ( Chrysler spec). Not used a drop since it was done and engine seems nice and quiet. (apart from the diesel knock you get on these engines!). The oil that came out didn’t look too bad, so I don’t think these engines are too hard on the oil. They seem to run to spaceship mileages. Just stick to the oil change schedules with a good filter and either a 5w30 or 5w40 fully synthetic diesel oil. (Non dpf oil).
