I have replaced the filter housing and the car was golden for about 3 weeks but while we were in Wales the engine started cutting in and out and finally out. The RAC brought us back on the back of one their trucks and the car is now at our local (good) mechanic.
The RAC says it is the high pressure pump that has gone and we are looking at a sourcing a refurb which is all fine. However before the engine is worked on to get to the pump I had a question from him. He has has conflicting information about whether their is a lift pump in the tank, we want to check it if there is one, and rather than taking the tank out to look does anyone here know. He is flat out busy and it would save time to know.
It is a stow and go 2006 2.8 CRD and it would be a great help to be pointed in the right direction.
