I have a Grand Voyager 2.8 diesel which is suffering the engine cutting out when driving along. I am working through all the suggestions on the site which have been very helpful.
Deciding on whether to change the fuel filter housing I pulled out the heating plug in it and looked over the wiring, and possible heat damage, to the plug. Attached is a pic of the wiring after I had stripped away the old tape around and it was obvious the plug had been changed sometime in the past. After stripping the insulation away it was clear that that the insulation between the bare wires had not been done well and the two wires had been touching.
I haven't checked any fuses to see if they had blown but I wondered, with not much hope nor logical reason why, if the wires were creating an intermittent contact could this be the reason the engine was cutting out.
For the life of me I cannot see why this should be the cause but I thought to ask before I continued down the path of finding the fault.
