Hi Fellow Members 'need Assistance'

Hi All

 

I recently bought a 53 reg, 2.5Lt Voyager and found a bottle of gear oil in the cubby. I have noticed that she has trouble moving into first, second and third gear and was wondering if I needed to top up the gear oil. If this is the case, how do I go about this?

What oil is it? It should be atf 4. Anything else will give you difficult gear selection

Its a manual and the gear oil is COMMA EP80W-90 GL-5.

Thought all 2.5s were manual? Is there an auto 2.5 version?

The oil you have there is for manual boxes, BUT the Chrysler manual box (T850) uses AUTO fluid you need an ATF + 4 between 2.4 to 2.7 Ltrs fill from empty. the plug is on the side of the gearbox and, I believe, is similar to many other boxes where it acts as a fill line too but vehicle needs to be level.
