Aftermarket Disc Brakes

So previous owner (or owner before him, not sure) invested in Brembo brake calipers and pads, unfortunately he didn't invest in the disc brakes. All 4 corners are still standard discs that are now in need of servicing. I'm thinking to go along with the brembo calipers and pads and fit brembo discs - haven't started searching yet -  but wanted to first get your opinions as to which aftermarket discs will do the best job.

I'm open to all recommendations, except not all recommendations may be relevant. Israel has strict vehicle import laws and only a registered importer can bring in any mechanical parts relating to the braking or suspension systems a vehicle. So buying off ebay is out of the question

I've always just used OE spec stuff as find their performance adequate on the MultiAir. Brembo will be an improvement though - my only thing to mention with those from having them on my old Coupe is that their Discs are very expensive.

Difficult question and I must admit I'm surprised at the upgrade on a delta tbh not really necessary as the standard brakes are more than adequate for a family hatch. The discs that match brembo calipers can be two piece and are very expensive, my abarth has them and it makes me want to brake carefully so as to make them last!

Indeed Alan - IIRC replacement Coupe Brembo drilled Discs were about £300 a pair!

The only proviso here is that JHs Delta is an automatic and brakes are the only means of stopping or slowing down, as there's minimal engine braking from auto cars

And also keep in mind that i've got the 1.8L DiTurbo (with a remapped ECU) that knows how to move VERY quickly... stopping power is certainly a must.

 

The other day i was cruising down the freeway at 120km/h when a car cut in front. I jumped on the brakes and found myself fighting to keep the vehicle inside my lane.. this was after the new tyres were installed too.

I think they are £500 a pair on Abarth!

I finally found the right brembo code that i need for front and rear discs, contacted the local importer only to be told that there is no stock in Israel and none expected to arrive. Basically, the Delta uses a front ventilated disc that only really suits a Delta and no-one wants to spend the money on importing an aftermarket brand.

But then I was speaking with a guy who works at an Italian Alfa/Fiat/Lancia dealership who said that eper and the official brembo site have matching product codes for the front and rear discs, so he thinks the OEM discs may be brembo..  any one know anything else about this?
