Headlights On With Wipers

Question

I just posted a new thread here by hoping that any expert can reply...

I replaced my headlight switch with the "auto" featured one as well as auto dim mirror with the headlamp sensor. Actually, my van had an auto dim mirror (without sensor) but, as a precaution, I replaced the mirror with another one with the headlamp sensor which stuck to the mirror.

I checked the schematics and the harness in my van and saw all the wiring has been already installed in my 2001 Grand Voyager which has power doors and EVIC. Auto headlamp feature is just a plug and play and it is working perfectly but, I am not able to activate the "headlights on with wipers" feature from the EVIC, since this option is still not available in the EVIC menu.

So, should I go to Chrysler service to activate this feature, replace a relay or, what should I do for this?

Just an idea, I have been thinking a wiring with a relay from the wiper arm to the headlamp switch to activate the low beam whenever I use the wipers. I guess, there will be a serious problem, since there is no relay for the headlamps while park and fog lamps have one for each...

Why would you want to put headlights on when washing the windscreen?  :D

Just because it's raining doesn't mean you need lights! It never seems too much hardship for me to figure out it's dark to put my lights on, but then I've had a lot of years of practice.

Unlike lots of cars currently which have illuminated dash regardless of the lights being on or not. So the driver is unaware they have no rear lights, and daytime lights only at the front. See it loads.

As you know, actually, not while washing the windshield. EVIC is able to activate this feature whenever you use the wipers. Now that my van has this feature, I do want to activate it regardless of attacking the headlight switch when I see the rain drops...? On the other hand; in the United States, it is a rule in some states. Whenever you use wipers, you must switch the headlights on. Even if it's a nice dream to see this safety rule in Turkey, as I have said, it is a very useful feature that engineers added in our vans in the year of 2000s whilst most of today's vehicles don't have that feature.

- beeps when locking / unlocking

- kilometres / miles

- SatNav DVD codes etc

- DRL etc

Are all functions of the EVIC. The EVIC however is a function of the 'country code' it will be right there and visible in a full workshop quality diagnostic scanner but will not turn on if at the time your GV EEPROM was written it was not in your country code.
