0 andyb2000
Hi there, 16 is very low even for these. What model diesel is it? And does it give out clouds of smoke on acceleration, on idling, on start, etc? Could be a lot of things so we can start to narrow it down. Also, most code readers won't get much out of these cars, especially the diesel editions so it's almost pointless going down that diagnostic route, need good old fashioned car thinking! 0 soupstone
My display was sitting at around 20mpg there, making sure all the tyre pressures were 36 has helped, it's currently at 25. (display is normally 2 mpg over actual mpg, if you work it out correctly). The 4 ranged from 31.5 to 35.5, so not massively under pressure. I get the white smoke on startup, but it starts not too bad. A small jag of the throttle on really cold mornings. I'm also aware that I have a slight leak on one of the injectors. Not done a leak off test. Your posts spurred me on, off to order new copper washers and o-rings, and I'll carry out a leak off test over the weekend. 0 mikebh8
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the display show us gallons?1 us gallon equals 0.83 UK gallon...to get an accurate measure switch to EU l/100km and than convert into UK gallon. 0 soupstone
I've read that before, but my MPG reading is UK by the looks of it. Getting 12l/100km on metric setting, or in the US setting, 24mpg now. 12l/100km is 23.5MPG UK. Converting to MPG US, it would 19.6mpg. O rings and copper washers ordered from VMdieselspecialists. I've used them a few times over the years. £21 delivered.
