Question

Hi,

In the past 3 days the message hill stop assistance unavailable and warning light has come on twice. It goes off when I switch the engine off wait a minute and restart it. Is this covered under the 3 yr chrysler warrenty? ? Anybody else have this problem an how did you sort it?I'm guessing it's a sensor problem.....

Thanks in advance for any help

The MultiAir with Stop/Start has an additional sensor on it measuring battery voltage. I removed mine to try to charge the battery as the Stop/Start has stopped functioning. When you reconnect you get a series of errors as the car thinks the battery has been totally disconnected - thats why I asked. If the system is working OK I'd guess its just a sensor issue to alert to the dash. Would not worry about it stopping functioning.

Check the rear brakes as I think it works by a senor actuating the rear calipers. Might just need a reseat.....

Since I wrote the earlier post I took my car for a 10 mile drive and the hill stop completely went. So now I defiantly have to take it to a dealership. My isn't a start and stop just the standard. Hopefully this won't cost me an arm and a leg since I have only bought the car 5 months ago from a dealership.

Brake lights on/off - Hill Stop on/off. Sounds like a gremlin within the entire braking system..... Ask the dealer to go through the entire braking system with a tooth-comb - especially the sensors. Sounds like the car is not sure when you a braking/requiring the car to be hill-held etc. Must be a sensor somewhere. (though brake lights are normally push-button/sensor activated by the pedal.)

Hope you get it sorted.

Chrysler came out to me today they managed to sort the brake lights it was the sensor under the brake pedal had got stuck down causing the break lights to stay on, which was also causing the hill stop to not work as it's being told the brakes are being used another words confusing the sensor.... It is working ok now but will need to be replaced. So sticking to my original appointment. Something so stupid, thank god.
