Luigiflipflop
Have had trouble with the clock time as it does not hold its time after I complete my journey . I reset it every trip but it just does not continue to work ? Any ideas ? Is there a fuse behind unit ?Delta diesel
0 MikeyRules
Yes Rosso's right in that the diesels don't have stop start. Mines the 1.6... Luigi where are you based? Might help us send you somewhere decent. Any decent Fiat/Alfa should be able to do a proxy alignment. It only takes a few mins too.
0 MikeyRules
That should have read any decent Fiat/Alfa specialist...
0 Rossocorsa
Sounds good but who will be able to do the proxy alignment ?Can't guarantee it will work it's just a suggestion, any fiat agent could do it or it can be done using multiecuscan software
0 Luigiflipflop
Cheers will do some research .
0 Rossocorsa
Additionally a faulty battery can cause weird effects on modern cars, it could be something as simple as that
0 Andrewgrale
Delta diesels don't have stop start (well 2 litre ones definitely don't, fairly sure 1.6 doesn't either)It's a bad day that one doesn't learn something new :-DGood information ! 0 Luigiflipflop
I live in herts , went to veloces in Barnet yesterday , they soecialise Iin Alfa’s but said I would need to return as they could not identify faults as main mechanic on hols . Have emailed autolisso in Dunstable , and will see what response I get . Glyn Hopkins in St Albans want to charge 840 pounds but are not sure it will fix the problem ! Have a new battery fitted ! 0 vausey
I had similar gremlins with an Alfa 147 - it transpired that the new battery I'd been supplied wasn't powerful enough. Then get yourself a copy of multiecuscan and an elm-327 cable and do the proxy alignment yourself.

Have a new battery fitted !Yeah I know Herts well as I used to work in Hatfield and commute from Cheshire lol. Veloces are good guys to be fair, but mainly a sales enterprise with a service bay for car prep... Autolusso are your best bet. They're well regarded in the Alfa community and know their stuff. I'd give them a call or drop in rather than email. They're usually a busy service and parts centre so you'll get a better response talking to them. As for Glyn Hopkins...I'd rather cut my head off and sh*t down the hole than give them any money!!! Nello and Andrewgrale

0 Luigiflipflop
Well another wasted day and more cash thrown away ?Delta chassis number not even registering on software at Autolusso . Seem to think body computer but cannot check as no computer package for checking ? Back to glyn Hopkins who think it’s a cluster issue ?Any mechanically minded people out there ? 0 Luigiflipflop
Have had the cluster checked by autotronics and contrary to glyn Hopkins who said it was the cluster that was no good and wanted almost 10000 pounds to fix, it seems that there is a problem with the car not earthing correctly . Has any one got a wiring diagram for 2.0 l diesel?especially behind dash and radio ?

It was in the wiring on the fuse line for the cluster giving a low voltage and throwing up the fault. All clear now :-) parts used 20cm of wire soldered in place and heat shrink to cover. Clear faults, proxi alinment not needed! All great. No thanks to Fiat dealer who left me high and dry !

0 Nello
Well done Luigi! We had an idling issue years ago on our old Stilo that x2 main dealers could not fix. I'm still chuffed to this day that I managed to sort it with the aid of a Fiat Forum How-to. Edited February 18, 2018 by Nello
0 Luigiflipflop
What would you do Mikey ? Guess the old girl has got a few more trips in her ! Spent ages sourcing this model . Might even treat her to a valet ?Yeah I think you're doing the right thing... They are good cars, pretty cheap to run and full of old fiat parts lol, so what's not to like!? You've probably seen me on here harping on about wanting something else (I have an Alfa habit), but the Delta ticks so many boxes, and it's hard to justify to 'her indoors' that I want something else because I'm a car slag!
