Hi, when you say "it won't go past 40mph" you talking just the needle or the car itself?

Try first resetting the instrument cluster (many YouTube videos on how to).

If not, is either the unit itself or one of the sensors as you have been advised before.

Unfortunately to know for sure you need to have spare parts, if you know someone with a grand Voyager ask if he/she can land you the instrument cluster to try.

Hope it helps.

Hi yes the speedometer won't go past 40mph the car is defo going faster then stated if I get a second hand cluster will it work to test it or will it have to be programmed to the car ? I'm not to bad around a car can do brakes and starter motors on my transit should be able to swap them over to test it but will it mess anything up ie the old 1 when put back in

Do u no we're the input and out put sensors are ??? looks an easy job and not that expensive but haven't a clue were they are thank u very much for your help much appreciated I have the 2005 grand voyager ltd xs

It won't mess anything, what I heard is (I don't believe it yet) that the mileage displayed on the dash are stored within the dash...if you do find one and swap them over please note the current mileage and let us know if there are any changes.

About the input and output sensor, I couldn't find them on my car, led me to believe it is the case only on automatic transmission...unfortunately is long time I don't have the auto GV to check for sure.

Is yours auto?

Hi Guys,

I've swapped mine on a 2002 3.3 auto and the mileage was correct so I assume stored in the main ecu, it was in the course of a TCM / PCM comms problem, didn't sort it. (no gear changing, just second forward gear and reverse)

Yes the input and output sensors are located on the front / side of the gearbox, easy ish with nearside wheel off.

Gonna be cheeky and see if anyone knows about this I've repaired the wire on the passengers side wire track electric door works fine now I've just put a second hand wire track on drivers side and it closes but won't open it makes the noise as if it wants to but the doors not releasing if I open it manually it slides open just won't release any ideas ??

Mine was doing that, after repairing the wires, because it was catching somewhere
