Buttonmod

Hi!

 

Not sure why it is called button Mod but I put a 10p Maplin 33k resistor in today.

 

Fiddly, but successful. I'm a trifle worried by the immediate reading the multi-tester gave but I think it will settle down after a drive (reading was on my drive straight after fitting).

 

I'll test tomorrow after my drive to work.

 

Have been researching solar panels for a belt and braces approach and when current battery dies I'll replace with an Optima Red, but I'm not an infrequent user, just a mainly short journeys driver, so hoping I'll be ok!

What's worrying about 14.5, perfect for winter. In the summer you'll see the 14's down to 13's as the starting is less stress on the battery. Congratulations.

 

BTW the wire you cut goes to a button sensor under the battery tray that reads temperature, hence the name buttonMOD.

I've just treated myself to a 5th Generation.

 

Do I need to do the button mod on that or are they less prone to battery issues?
