TPMS Issues

Question

Hi Anybody know of or experienced the following issue with the TPMS display on a 2006/7 or older 300C

The issue: Turn the car on go into systems and car display showing all four tyre pressure levels.

All pressures showing as per normal for the size of tyre.

Drive a few miles and the nearside left display disappears and the warning chime and light start going off. Drive a few more miles and one by one they all go out and the chime starts to drive you mad.

Stop the car, turn the ignition off, restart the engine and all four tyre displays are back as per normal. Drive a few miles and the whole process begins again.

I’ve checked all the batteries in the TPMS units with a scanner and all are good. I do have, if the readings can be trusted, a very slow leak on the near side rear but re-inflating to correct level has no beneficial effect and the problem described above continues.

I assume it could be a receiver issue rather than a TPMS sender issue ? But if so, can you even get/buy the module, which I’m told sits behind the dash near the ignition switch/key, not checked that yet but thats what I've been told. I’ve also been told it's possible to disable the damn system with something called a ‘Star Reader” whatever that might be.

No work has been done to the car recently in relation to tyres, I did replace all of the glow plugs a few weeks ago but cant imagine they would, in any way, have an effect on the TPMS system! But stranger things happen at sea and all that.

Any help would be great.
