Window Regulator Problem

Hi lads (and possibly lassies!)

 

My wifes 2012 Delta is giving a weird problem with the LHR window regulator

 

It started when my daughter knocked on the window, to salute a friend, as she put the window down

Since then the window will do anything but park in the closed position

It goes to the top and then right down again, if you inch it to the closed position it will stay closed, but if you use the remote to close it or use the automatic function it will close but then go straight back down again

 

It is only the lhr window

 

Ideas please!

I have an idea that it may be a motor problem, as I looked at the slides and all are clean and clear

Ah this is an easy one Andrew... The window needs resetting basically!

 

To reset lower the window and hold the button down for 10 seconds... count one and two and three to make sure you do 10 proper seconds. Then pull up and let the window go to the top holding it in the up position again for 10 seconds.

 

That should the reset them back to normal.

They need the reset that Mike described whenever you disconnect the battery as well

Thanks lads, I did the reset just a few minutes ago and all is now perfect :-D

This procedure also restores the one touch facility if that stops working too...

 

One last thing you may or may not be aware of is that you can put all 4 windows up or down using the key fob. Just hold down the unlock or lock button and hey presto! Particularly good if it's hot as you can open everything up and let a bit of fresh air in before you climb in!

Dunno what I did there, but yeah I am aware of this feature, which is a great idea!

It's also fitted to most of the FCA group cars, except, strangely enough, the new Tipo :-O

Then again, it's built on a price and I'm sure that nothing comes for nothing

Yeah I've owned most of them!!

 

Punto's don't have it either which is strange as they're usually really well spec'd. Haven't tried the misses Mito yet...

Ah that makes sense... I sell a few Punto's mainly 3 door 'Easy' spec as they pretty much have every conceivable extra, but oddly not that feature!

The autoclose/open function using the remote was only operating two of my windows (passenger front and drivers side rear)
