Speedo And Odometer Not Working, Need To Know What Sensor

HI all,

 

Need some help myself and my wife bought a 2005 Chrysler Voyager 2.5 CRD manual. The car is in mint condition bodywork and engine wise but it is not logging miles or registering my speed on the Speedo. From what I have read its a sensor fault as I have tried the diagnostics and all of the dials work.

 

I can see speed input and output sensors on ebay but they seem to be for an automatic transmission. I have also seen ABS speed sensors for sale which go on each wheel.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction here please? Am a bit new to this so am lost.

Try this :

Press and hold the odometer reset until a diagnostics begins to run.

I shouldn't think it's anything to do with the abs sensors.

 

Best suggestion would be to take it to a good auto electrician to get it diagnosed, could save a lot of time and money.

Hi, if is a manual would be the one in the picture bellow, the other picture is the location on the gear box.

Send them the pictures and they will let you know.

If they don't have on the shelf they will take from the one in the yard.

Hi

If your cruise control also doesn't work, it's likely to be the small plastic cog in gearbox. About 6.80 from dealer. 15 mins to change. I had this problem & eventually, after a year, changed this part & my speedo, odo & CC now all working!

Hi Debski...well crusie control only comes up at 30/mph so if the speedo doesn't work the cruise is off too.
