Hey guys having a headache with my dvd player in my gv.Its a 2003 car with single disc mopar system stereo system is the sat nav unit suspect this has been changed but the sat nav doesnt work.When I first checked its operation prior to changing the headunit the screen illuminated but still showed invalid disc message on stereo headunit.The DVD headunit was the cause so recently purchased a new checked and operating dvd head unit with 60 day warranty fitted it and the DVD screen still doesn't come on is it linked to the head unit being the wrong type it does come up on the stereo invalid disc it was harry potter and the philosophers stone I tried.Please help. Would it be an issue if the stereo had a disc stuck in it?

I have a slightly different model with a separate 6 disc changer bellow the headunit.

On my system the screen only plays when you press the headphone symbol in the remote, the symbol then pops up on the head unit screen

I don't seem to have a headphone button on my remote it is the single disc mopar system

Ah that's a completely different remote, same head unit just a different dvd unit.

Strange that they don't work in the same way though as it's the same head unit.

Is that the right remote for the radio? Or is it for a newer one?

 

As Semmysonic says ours are different to that, with the headset / power button top left to switch on the screen

Same head unit, but different 6 disc loader, and different screen as mine the stow n go with the rails.

Yeah that's it, screen also in rails, I'm thinking about try to put a second screen on for the back row of seats, do t K ow how easy it will be though

Ok thanks for your info I've bought another dvd headunit and it does the same attempts to load then displays invalid disc message tried the remote aswell but no joy so its out with the multimeter and continuity checker to go over the wiring
