Penguin2007
General query so that I am prepared, just in case..... and for others in archive format Car is in for MOT, with the LED driving lights, normal headlights and LED tail lights... etc What happens if 1 or 2 of the LED lights are not working in a single cluster. Easy to say with a normal headlight - 'out' is 'fail'. Thoughts please Penguin
0 MikeyRules
Hmm great question! I guess anything we answer with here is just personal opinion, unless the internet has tales of woe... If there's no fault bulb showing it's out on the dash and they don't notice one or two little LED's out then you'd probably get away with it. You do have to be looking at the unit straight on to see if any individual LED's are out, and if you even stand 1ft to the left or right you can't tell as they're recessed into the lens. Personally I couldn't live with it, so would have to bite the bullet and replace it quickly before it gets any worse. Mine off-side rear indicator has completely failed, so I've had to do exactly that!
0 Nello
Happy to be corrected however I'm pretty sure theres no limit of the number of LED's that need to be present as long as theres at least one for it to pass an MoT.Although it will obviously be an advisory ............... 0 Nello
On the topic of LED's - has anyone found any LED bulbs to go in the rear number plate lights that don't cause CANBUS errors? If I read the Italian forums right you need an in-line resistor as well.....
0 TJB
On the subject of the rear lights. How do you go about removing them? Mine have a lot of crud and algae round the edge where the previous owner parked under trees and it annoys me every time I look at the car. "Light cluster ,rid the rubbish!"Hope that is helpful.? Edited June 4, 2019 by Cassino TJB
0 Nello
I rarely think to going on that forum for some reason Cassino. I have never joined the Lancia Club as thought £50 was a bit pricey. Good idea though Cassino although I don't think the black lines would look too good on my white car. I might add some clear silicone seal.......... 0 Cassino
I joined LMC when I got my 58 Appia.....the club magazine is very good btw.Yep, you could use any colour under that plastic lip, that suits the body colour. *If anyone wonders about the Handles we use on forums???My name was going to be Chivasso, then I discovered that the Delta was bolted together a bit further south than Turin......at the FCA plant at Monte Cassino..alongside the Alfa Giulietta Edited June 4, 2019 by Cassino
0 Nello
Great to hear you have other Lancia's............... I have had Beta's and Fulvia's in the past as well as a load of other Italians over the years. In fact almost exclusively Italian. Nello is the Italian pseudonym for Neil - plus there used to be a Pizza restaurant (and they were fairly scarce at the time going back to the 70's/early 80's) in my home town Coventry called 'Nello's'............
