We have a Grand Voyager 2002 2.5 CRD for three years love the car but sometimes when we try to start it just turns over, and will not start! when it first did it if you left it 30min-1 hour then it would just start fine, doesn't turn over many times starts well. because it doesnt do it all the time it has been to three garages and never played up so couldn't find any faults! Someone suggested Crank Sensor, and fuel pressure sensor with a oil change, so changed these, still doing it. Once when it wouldn't start my husband talked me through changing the crank sensor i changed it (for the old one still in the car) , and car started, so we thought definely right area, but it did it again at home husband changed the sensor and still wouldn't start, we flattened the battery trying, so after the battery had been recharged put it on the car, (over night) and it started first turn. Yesterday the car stopped at the Gp surgery tried changing part and disconnected the battery for 30 mins (someone suggested ECU would rest after 30 mins??) still wouldn't start, got a lift with my five children home. We went to try and sort it next morning, husband reconnected battery (which was off all night) started first time any ideas?? My husband is a tyre and exhaust fitter not engine mechanic but can do basics.
