Tailgate

Hi all

For some strange reason I can not open my tailgate by hand using the handle but if I use the key fob (electric tailgate) it will open any suggestion will be of help.

I have done the positive off the battery reset for about 40 mins but no change.

Also the tailgate opens using the key in the lock or have I got it wrong & the 2 ways to.open it is by fob or key?

My 2005 is the same, and I have changed the handle electrical switch which is now fine. It should open with the handle yes.

 

I can only guess it's something to do with the tailgate ecu, behind the panel on passenger side high up in boot area. I have swapped one but no joy.

Does it make a noise when you press the handle button?

 

I have no problem opening mine but no one else seems to be able to open it properly

No when I push the handle no noise at all.

Nope nor mine, not getting signal through the system to the latch release
