Hard To Get Gears

Hi all sorry if this is in the wrong place I am completely new to this. I have got a grand voyager that came with a very stiff gearbox it was so hard to select a gear I literally had to force it in gear and the car would lurch as it went in I have replaced the master and the slave cylinder for the clutch which made it a lot better but unless the clutch pedal goes all the way to the deck as far as it can possibly be pushed then it is still hard to get a gear. I am thinking this is going to be to do with the release bearing. My question is when I come to change the 3 piece clutch is there anything else that I am needing to look at? Or replace? It's is a 53 plate diesel manual trans 2.5 crd

 

The clutch is not slipping or burning

 

My other query is the biting point is about and inch off the floor and then a second bite almost at the top of the pedal, is this normal or is this all linked to a dodgy release bearing pressure plate and flywheel

Its like mine that I have had for 3 years now. Changing the gearbox oil/fluid which is ATF helped it slightly. I'm thinking its weak fingers on the clutch but I'll wait.

I changed the gearbox oil when I did the hydraulics, but it is still harder than it should be to locate a gear. Reverse is awful, really have to pull that one in. Think o might just get the 3 piece kit and go for it on a fine day, just need to know if there is anything else I should change while the box is off

Rear engine oil seal. Has been brought to light by quite a few people on her. If it happens to leak, just after your clutch is done, gearbox is out again.

Definitely do the rear crank seal, all 3 seals, I've never driven a car with 2 bite points and as soon as I replaced the crank seals and the clutch it went to a normal clutch again. The seal kit is around £100 and fairly easy to do, drop the 'box pull off the fly wheel and hey presto. Make sure you either take pictures or remember which way you pull stuff off. While you're underneath check the front engine mount as all 4 I've owned the mount has gone and replacing it made the world of difference with vibrations and noise.

Hi, I hope is not too late for a comment, when engine off the gears are easy to change?

If with the engine off it is easy to skip from fird to reverse( or similar )then is the clutch, if it is the same as with the engine on then is the gearbox link or the gearbox it self.
