0 Semmysonic
I've heard some say 40psi to help with handling, I would always go with what manufacturers say and get something smaller if you want handling :-D
0 Colinevan
I have experimented . Tend to run around 36 however They look like there flat all the time ha ha. I did try 40 which cosmetically looks miles better and stiffens he ride somewhat. Maybe compromise at 38 all around and see how that feels. Col. 0 bignev
If the tyres are a few years old the side walls will weaken, worn on the tread or not, rubber goes off - age is a wonderful thing!Because of course as they rotate they would be squishing and relaxing all the time at lower speeds. Especially as lots of people think tyres will go from one service to the next without a look! So they would run for a lot of their life under inflated - not good on a heavy car!Hence the "dumbing down" by car manufacturers - "Tyre Pressure Monitors" And so older tyres would do exactly as you say!Do check for any minor cracks on the sidewall close up!
