2004 Grand Voyager Tailgate Problem

Hi everyone, I'm afraid I need a little help, I have just bought a 2004 grand voyager and one of the problems is the rod that connects the rear tailgate motor to the tailgate has snapped and is missing. Is there anywhere to get the dimensions of the rod to have one made or do I have to buy the complete motor, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks very much, I have found a complete unit on fleabay for £30 so at least I will have a spare motor and it will be cheaper than having a rod machined. Onto refurbing the gearbox next :-(

Hi. I think when the tailgat is up you should be able to measure the tie rod. If you could measure it centre to centre please.

OK will do, mine is an 06 but I should imagine it's the same

Is it the short round bar your after?

 

It's 750 mm from hole center to hole center.
