Hi peeps! I have been looking for a while at replacement rear lights because some of the LEDs have failed in mine, I gave up and decided to remove the lens and take a look myself.
So far I have discovered the correct solvents to unseal the lens from the housing and removed it, cleaned it up and started testing the LEDs on the 6 PCBs inside, managed to source new LEDs and remove the old ones from the boards and tested the remaining contacts/LEDs.
Now this is not an easy job by any standard but so far will save me a large chunk of cash given that I can do it myself but I do not recommend anyone try this themselves due to the nature of the solvents involved in removing the lens so if I manage to get a good seal after fixing these would anyone be interested in having theirs refurbed?
