Semmysonic
Has anyone tried playing movies from a usb stick rather than dvd, I have an 06 xs grand voyager with a standard dvd system fitted. Is it possible before I start looking into it. The head unit has 3 av sockets on the front.

0 Semmysonic
Still no further on with this, any ideas where to start, is it even possible?
0 Penguin2007
Semmysonic I believe that this may not be possible..... (legally) It is to prevent 'rip off' copies being made. There is a copy prevention system, simliar to those on CDs (much to the annoyance of music server owners, that will not allow you to copy onto other media. There maybe ripping software available to do the deeds, but I thinks its not legally possible A Google search 'copy dvd to usb flash drive' reveals several helpful hints.... , other search engines are available. :-) Penguin
0 Semmysonic
Its the physical connection I'm looking for I have lots of kids films on a stick (all legal) which I play on my TV at home. Going on holiday to France so need lots of films to keep the kids happy. I don't have a USB port in the car just the av connection (red, yellow and white) I'm guessing I need some sort of powered converter/connector to play through the dvd player in the car. 0 bignev
Yep, easy!Yet again ebay comes up with it. Search for usb to av cable, then also female to female usb adapter.Less than a fiver should sort it. However I have yet to try it, but think I should have a go!! 0 Semmysonic
Tried that, doesn't work because the USB needs power to use it. I've had an idea, ordered some bits from eBay, will report back when they are delivered, cost around £30 so not too expensive either

0 Semmysonic
It's connected through the 3 av sockets on the front of the dvd player, player comes with all connections other than the power cable. There is probably other players that will do the job, chose this one because it was cheap :-) can't believe it's taken me almost 12 months to figure out when the answer was so simple and straightforward Draddict
