  1. Hi All, somewhere in the threads is the start of this topic but I thought that I would give you all an update as you had offered support before. The problem was the fact that the gears did not always change up and held in an intermediate gear from time to time. I took it to Chrysler (and other Fiat brands) main dealer in Guildford (Bishops) and had them run a diagnosis, fearing all the while that they would come back with an ECU problem that would probably have cost thousands. They told me that it was caused by a faulty brake switch and when I expressed a good measure of scepticism that this could affect the gearbox they managed to convince me. Apparently the auto Fiat 500s sometimes have the same problem. Now the replacement switch has been fitted, all runs perfectly, so for an outlay of around £236 for the diagnostics, switch and labour, repaid to me by Harratts of Wakefield, the supplying dealer, all is now cured. I have now taken out a Warrantywise warranty at £30 a month just in case it comes back, or anything else of course. I love the car by the way, it does all that I ask, responsive and pretty fuel efficient with a very comfortable ride. Rod
