  1. Hope someone can shed some light on this.

    2005 3.3 V6 Stow and Go.

At idle when I put it in gear (any), OR put the AC on, with both then its worse!

We get a deep "ruh ruh ruh" noise. If you increase the revs even very slightly it goes away.

A little bit of research reckons it could the "decoupler pulley" on the alternator.

    Has anyone else had this?

This our 3rd GV and the other 2 didn't (or don't - still got 2!!) do this.

Only had the AC pipes replaced and regassed recently so up to then put it down to gearbox, but obvioulsy it isn't as the AC will make it do exactly the same noise.

Here's hoping guys! Cheers, Nev Brown

  2. I'm sure this is way too late but for future reference on the forum - Pentagon Chrysler in Barnsley, Yorkshire, have a very helpful parts department. I have just had the water and air con pipes from them, which run from under the drivers foot area to the 2 rear coils, heater and AC, supplied in 2 days, all 4 aluminium pipes £165.00!!!

Would not suggest a delivery as they are so massively long, one from breakers arrived bent in half, not much good.

    Complete sod to fit though!

And I have also done the pair of coolant pipes from behind engine on the bulkhead running down to meet these new pipes, leaking due to corrosion under the drivers foot area.

    Also a sod to do!

  3. Sorry also meant to add our engine light did come on too, but when the guys (Panache in Manchester) adjusted the system its stayed off since but it never, ever ran badly, smooth as you like from the off, no different at all from petrol.

We've not got the valve saver oil thingy. Car now has 90,000 miles on it.

  4. Hi there, we have a 2001 3.3 with the LPG Tech system on it, had minor problems as one of the other guys (different system) with the leak due to mis-match of pipe sizes.

However other than that ours has been great, 3 years and 23,000 miles, filter checked eack year.

Ours changes over at temperature, no matter what revs.

i would suggest get your money back, go somewhere else, and as has been suggested get a BRC system.

I don't work for them either. But our new (2005 XS stow n go) is in at the minute for precisely that!

Tank underneath in place of spare wheel, and one in the passenger side seat stow well.

Apparently it gets slightly better fuel economy - every little helps.

  5. Yep sounds like somethings wrong.

Our 2 previous Grand Voyagers never killed tyres, 8000 miles on a set of Goodyear NCT before we changed it and loads left. Our main car usually sees over 12.000 miles on a set of fronts, and not expensive ones, Accelera work well for us on ours. It's not a Ferrari so don't drive it like one hey.

You don't necessarily want van tyres but definitely "extra Load" XL on the side wall.

Our current one (2005 stow and go) had your problem when we bought it, well worn on outside, especially passenger side. One "tyre expert" said it was ok, but my gut feeling was it wasn't and a second found it was a little out and adjusted the tracking, early days yet but hope its sorted.

  6. Hi there, we had a 2002 Grand Voyager Ltd with this problem, apparently not uncommon, if you have no fan speed control at all - stays on full - but all other functions work.

And the only way to turn the fan off is to pull out the fuse!

There is a resistior type box with aluminium heat sink finning behind the glove box, ours was a 3.3 petrol with the 3 zone climate, and I got one from a very helpful Chrysler dealer in Barnsley for around £90 delivered. He had it in stock, for what was at that point an 11 year old model - guess they sell a few! Some breakers wanted more than that for a used one!
