The petrol ones are much cheaper than the diesel units for some reason, I only gave around £20 / £30 for the 2 I got. My guess is that it's not the TCM, but something else. That fault code is related to "exhaust gas recirculation throttle control circuit" Mine no longer gives any fault codes, but doesn't change forward gears.

Roof Bars For A 2006 Stow And Go Model Please Advise.
bignev replied to Colinevan's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Yeah very wierd that they changed that sort of thing on a face lift. If I get chance at weekend I'll wizz the ones off my 2002 and see if they slide into my 2005, worth a shot hey. We are nearer Stockport than Manchester, where abouts are you? -
If the tyres are a few years old the side walls will weaken, worn on the tread or not, rubber goes off - age is a wonderful thing! Because of course as they rotate they would be squishing and relaxing all the time at lower speeds. Especially as lots of people think tyres will go from one service to the next without a look! So they would run for a lot of their life under inflated - not good on a heavy car! Hence the "dumbing down" by car manufacturers - "Tyre Pressure Monitors" And so older tyres would do exactly as you say! Do check for any minor cracks on the sidewall close up!

Hey there Colinevan - welcome!! (close neighbour!!) Yes they are very slightly different, the older ones have the lift up catch, where as our face lift ones (mine is 2005 stow n go) have a thumb wheel tightening. You've obviously already got the earlier ones and confirmed they don't go on the slide rail - I didn't know that bit! However - Only a question - but you did try to fit them from the front after removing the front plastic end cap didn't you? Then slide in and along? Cheers mate - see you around! -
Hiya, sorry mate - TCM is Transmission Control Module, controls the gear shifts up down etc. Except reverse, park, and second, which are manually selected when you move the shift lever. If you remove the TCM they still work. Yes they do I did it. PCM is Power Control Module On a petrol 3.3 they TCM is under the passenger wing, and the PCM is in front of the battery. And sadly basically you can't check them. My extreme frustration with mine is I've been fixing motorcycles and cars for 35 years and this little poo has beat me - not a happy bunny about it. The problem with mine, and possibly starting with yours, is when all the gear light squares are on it means the car (PCM and ECU) doesn't know where the gear lever is, "no communication from TCM to PCM" was the fault on mine, yet all wires appear to be ok - obviously something isn't!!!!!!!!! And a replacement TCM made no difference - they do not need coding in to the car, see the American mini van sites and Utube vids. Checked lots of wiring under the car in teh loom, apparently a common problem, nothing found. A very good mate of mine has a very good scanner but it see's sod all on it. If you do a "key dance" on/off 3 times (not starting it - just to ignition position) then leave in ignition position, the mileometer will cycle through some codes - have a pen ready - then go to "done" when finished. Mine was P01698.

My LX without the electric doors / boot had a similar problem, and ultimately would only drive forward in 2nd, no shifting. Changed the TCM, and PCM, checked out all wires, and never sorted it. Basically the cars stuffed as the engine light is now on due to potential emission problems. So good luck!! I will be watching this line - it may help me fix mine which is sat at the bottom of the garden!!!!!

Hi guys, none of my 3 petrol versions have had one, but I guess it might have something to do with noise as well as aerodynamics on a diesel.

Hi Beckie, did you get the shaking sorted?

Hiya pal! Yes I had mine fixed last year - the same job exactly. I found one guy at a breakers who had them, for £90, and the courier destroyed them on the way to me, didn't actually bother dropping them off, left a card and returned to sender, in half. Contact the spares guys at Pentagon Barnsley, not all that far from you I guess, for a very important collection! I got the set of pipes from them. 01226 323050 They emailed me the parts picure to confirm it was what we needed, extremely helpful guys. All 4 - Air Con and heater - from rear to drivers foot area, were £165!! Had to order in but they only took 3 days. For the Stow n Go 2005 The part number is K05189882AA, and rather strangely it's called a "cable harness". That info is from the parts sticker from the pipes - so no doubts. They are rather long, and very awkward to fit. the front nuts were a bugger to undo, my AC guy couldn't do it, in a garage with all the tools, so I used the heating engineer method and very carefully cut the nut at each side and split it, only aluminium. Took me half an hour under the car on the floor. So don't believe them if "it can't be done". The problem with blanking any refrigerant pipes off is the danger of the oil collecting at that point and then not lubricating the compressor. Hope they can help you out steviec2000!

Try "T4W", from the handbook for both of mine.
-
Not as simple as you'd have thought!! The ones on the wing, I think - take a w5w "pea" bulb, but as some books give the wrong bulbs for fog lights (have some spares to prove that) I would take one out to be sure on your car, Cheers Nev

Good one pal - a whole lot safer hee hee! And now we all have the info too, thank you!

Not on mine fella. The lock position being all the way towards you (away from start) then one back

Headlights After Locking
bignev replied to Deano1324's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Yes Thats how it works, taken from the owners manual I don't use it, like them to go off and not drain the battery any more than needed If you want them on presumably it would be dark so they would already be on when you park up, so all it is, is turn the car off THEN turn the lights off, simples -
Headlights After Locking
bignev replied to Deano1324's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
In this order - engine on headlights on turn off engine and key out WITHIN 45 SECONDS - turn lights off - the delay time starts now turning engine or lights back on cancels the functions Hope it works for you - let us know! -
ha ha my apologies for the almost sexist comment!!! My Mrs had a good laugh at that too! Could well indeed be the fitting, ours was REALLY awful, not a bit but shaking a good inch each way. Lets hope it's that simple! Ours can be tight to get out of park on hills, with a loud thunk when it does. Have to tried sitting with the ignition on, but not running, and listen for a small click type noise as you put your foot on the brake pedal? It should, this is the mechanical release so the gear lever can move. gordy will probably be on the right lines with the diesel fuel filter I reckon.
-
Not my area as mines petrol - but check other threads for the fuel filter housing problem that the diesels have. On the shaking steering, we have non standard alloys, with a "spacer" ring to centralise them for fitting. And when garages, or even a tyre place from my personal experience, just wallop the wheels on and airgun them up they may not be centred correctly. Because mine shook its flaming head off after a puncture repair!!! So I refitted it myself, slowly and centred it up with the wheel nuts, lo and behold it's fine. Or has it been kerbed, and bent something? Has the Mrs not admitted it......Mine did, because she damaged the ruddy tyres!!!!! Due for change very soon anyway thankfully. The reverse problem - if that's when coming out of park, can you hear the clunk release when you put your foot on the brake? If not it might just be a brake switch problem.
-
Yep! That's all I did on my 02 Ltd, and what a difference, sounded like it needed major suspension surgery before! But I fitted my mechanics boiler at home. So we have a very straight relationship when I take him stuff I can't or don't have time to do.

Mine looks jolly much the same as that, (05 car) as well as you can tell from a photo!
