Diagnostic Tools, Cables, Software?
bignev replied to karmannski's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Hi @@mikebh8 and @@karmannski, does it see the Transmission Control Module by any lovely chance? On my 02, the one my mate has won't see the TCM, but will read the one on our 05 inc each solenoid. -
Quick answer - yes!
-
Not at all sure how the new ones fit guys, but the previous models bolted on with torx screws.
-
It could well have been the same, but sadly I've already put a 6mm earth cable from the box to the chassis, and no change. But I'm not surrendering and giving it away, just yet anyhow!
-
I think what Nigel is trying to get across is that if you pull out the relay - gently - while it's supposed to be on and you feel a clunk you have established that the system is trying to work and it's not a gas problem. It's further down the line towards the compressor and clutch.
-
Hi guys, Bit late to chip in why the AC comes on in winter - if you direct the airflow to the windscreen or the position just before it the system assumes you are demisting and helps by putting the air con on. Do you have a multimeter to check if the compressor is getting voltage? And maybe try swapping the AC relay for another you know works?

Oh yeah just re-read it with my glasses on - it actually is one of them yay! Could I be right that the head sets are simply infra red, pretty sure that's what my manual says for them? Don't go driving it stuff will break!!!! hee hee

Rattly Thumpy Noise On Idle
bignev replied to andyb2000's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Blooming good show Andy, very thorough investigation. Far better than most professionals I've dealt with over the years. Absolutely super write up too mate, fingers crossed I don't get to do it. -
Aha! Common problem, relatively easily sorted out hey, good one. And thanks for updating the post!

Gearbox Solenoid Pack.
bignev replied to Stevec0268's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
I don't really know but shouldn't think so, but it could be worth removing the pack from the front of the box to take a look first? Sorry then re-read the top post, the assembly comes off the front (rad side) of the gearbox at the top so should be a simple job!?!? 3 bolts? Go people tell me it's a git?! I do think you are right with the 41TE gearbox code for the 4 speed transmission. -

Yes it is a pain - when I'm shouting at the kids "is it on then" cos I can't see the bugger but can hear it alright!! Spotted a second hander on ebay a while ago and still wanted £40 I think!! From the Mopar USA site a selection of part numbers could be 5094043AB, 56043231AA, 5082013AA, 5094043AA

Lpg Conversion
bignev replied to cassandjohngreensmith's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Hee hee thought a few of you would have a giggle at that! There isn't any charge to register with them to search for stations by the way. BRC is supposed to be good, but as I say our "economy" LPG TECH has been great, I wouldn't say one is better than the other from driving both of them experience / point of view, and no better mpg. So if the installer is close enough and offers other systems as there are quite a number of options, he should presumably not want you back frequently for free work to put niggles right, no wages in that hey! And doesn't look good either. -
Yep, you're right, you need the remote - as far as my car would be concerned anyway!!

bignev replied to cassandjohngreensmith's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Nope me neither!! go-autogas do an actual old fashioned map, batteries never go flat lose signal or anything!! And you can download the LPG fillers and installers to a sat nav points of interest, got them on my Tomtom and the wifes Garmin, works well. One for Navman too. There is a charge but I reckon well worth it, the site gives prices updated by us real users. £12.95 for the map and unlimited satnav updates for a year. Or only £6.95 for the map and one download. -

I thought that a small tank would be a pain too and it could be ((80 litres both of ours) but when you see people at the pumps putting ten and twenty quid of petrol or diesel in then it would probably work out for them hey!! On a long run a bit more forward planning would be required of course. But well before my car needs a drink I need a coffee, leg stretch for my girls and I and a pee too, so "topping up" isn't usually too much mither for us. I would only get probably 240 miles max from ours, usually at most 73 litres. Still crap mpg hey guys! As you say @@Semmysonic the rest is for safety expansion up to the "blow off" pressure relief value. To leave a vapour level above the liquid level. -

I agree with what you say on the diagnostics thing, but it may well need "tickling" in its first few week to get the mixture spot on, but of course they would be doing this not anyone else. See my comment on our LPG TECH system, now just shy of 5 years old and fine. -
You are most correct - it doesn't ! I did that too hee hee!!! And checked out wiring through the pillar etc, all seemed ok....... but something isn't, temperamental bugger

bignev replied to cassandjohngreensmith's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Is it stow n go? I have a 50 litre tank where the spare went, underneath between driver / passenger seats. If not then our other standard seat model is an 80 litre tank at the back where the spare was. On getting your money worth out of it, by now you will have a jolly good idea how "economical" it isn't on journeys or round town - 25 or 16 in my case. So just do a few sums - Best case 25mpg at 8000 miles = 320 gallons, at 1.14 per litre £1656.00 for petrol, or at 56p = £813 for gas. Saving £843! And the worse it gets, the faster you save the money of course - 16mpg = 500 gallons, £2588 petrol £1271 on gas = £1317 saving!!!!!! And still cheaper than a drizzle per mile. And smoother and quieter too. Sorry guys. -
Hiya @@mikebh8 My door mirrors are out in sympathy with yours, left used to work then stopped, right one recently out too, same thing as yours when battery disconnected for a bit. The sliding door could still be a dodgy wire, I repaired mine on No. 3 a couple of times before surrendering and parting with the money for a new wiring harness / track. No.2 was like yours, ok some days after reset.
