  1. Aha! In that case, definitely don't waste money on the fluid before you swap the solenoid pack! Let us know how things go!
  2. Ok then, if it was doing the hard shifts prior to the transmission fluid change, (sorry, yes I missed that on your first post!) then maybe it has something to do with the solenoid pack getting too hot - but that really is a blind guess without any basis. They're not a total nightmare to change, but are awkward. It sits on top of the gearbox, at the front. I don't know what's in the way on a diesel, my petrol wasn't too camouflaged. Or if the fluid was never changed before, perhaps try another fluid and filter change first??
  3. It's a "Mrs" obviously, flipping heck Richard! We are getting some VERY odd and obscure titled questions aren't we? I'm mostly tempted to ignore them, as they almost seem like a joke, because somebody just couldn't be bothered to think of an appropriate title. Anyway, my rather rude answer would be with sockets, spanners, and skinned knuckles. But remove the wiper scuttle first it gives LOADS more room for any access from the top.
  4. Have you had the car long? Any documented detailed history of service? Did you use Mopar ATF+4 fluid - the specific type for the transmission on these? If not, that could be part of the problem. Or naff all to do with it. These are very sensitive little souls, on all manner of things....
  5. Hi there! Mine doesn't have them, but my educated guess would be the sensor battery has gone.
  6. That seems fair enough then!! It'll definitely provide fuel for your thirst for a challenge !! But unplugging the module for the door opener would seem like a start. Maybe it has something to do with the pinch sensors in the rubbers all round the door, but thinking on it, that wouldn't allow it to actually stay shut at all, as it would think there is a blockage and the safety system would immediately reverse and open up. Possibly a fault on the front overhead switch? I had all the gear indicators stay on, on our first GV, it was a precursor to the Transmission Control Module losing communication with the Body Control Module. I never got it sorted. Initially it was a low battery and dodgy earth connections causing it, then it all went tits up. It would do it after starting, then shortly sort its self out. I wish you good luck, I'll help with whatever I can! And I'm sure @RichardM will be more helpful for wiring diagrams!
  7. Hello there! Take it back, you're in for a world of pain on Voyager electrics. No, never come across anyone else with that particular fault.
  8. Can't help with that, but you might want to post it in the vehicle help section for the generation 5!! Has he tried doing a hard reset, battery disconnect??
  9. Suspension units and coil springs for petrol and diesel are different strengths, due to the difference in weight of the diesel engine I believe. So you may well possibly have an incorrect spring. Or - your many years, at least 15, old one isn't as strong as a new one...... So it sits at a different height.
  10. Would you like to explain what your problem is, as I'm not too happy clicking on links posted by a first time poster. Not that I have a diesel anyway.
  11. I really wish I could suggest anything useful, but you're WAY ahead of me on the diagnosis! But, no spark on any of the 6? Means the PCM I think. Or earths for the ignition system. I'm sure they've been checked, but as a guy on another forum keeps reminding - it's not always a complex answer. From our Subaru, on the Outback forum, some guys have reflowed the solder by putting it into an oven for a few minutes!!!!! I am not an electronics expert AT ALL, but they claim it worked for them to cure a serious misfire situation. I'll keep looking in with the hope of updates, and if my brain does come up with owt I'll shout up!
  12. I agree pal, but I'm not sure if the site moderators / head guys are around much if at all. I can only go off the spamming that went on for a while and didn't get erased from the forum.
  13. Possibly your local auto locksmith would be a good call?
  14. Robot, clearly. As you can see from the lack of posts for your cars generation, it's not the most active area on the forum. Just like the 5th Gen. Not like the 4th - all manner of stuff goes wrong on them so it sees lots of traffic. If I had any good ideas I would have posted, as I'm sure would any others. I obviously presume you have searched the common auction and sale sires, ebay, gumtree etc.
  15. I absolutely and completely agree Richard! SO many times a member appears, asks a question, receives information and suggestions, then disappears, with no clue as to what did, or didn't resolve their problem. That just doesn't help others, and is really rather rude, in my grumpy old man opinion! Like not being acknowledged when letting other drivers out of side roads, or to come through first, bah humbug.
  16. Good evening pal! Very glad you got it sorted, always good if you have a spare bit or two around hey!! That's a rather good play on spelling - I quite like it This one (of the 3 we've had) has always been an ungrateful sod of a car. Dealer registered demo - I'll never do that again! Well, not on a yank tank for sure. Even if it was assembled in Austria.
  17. Hiya pal, I've had this in the past, and we know how sensitive our buses are! Try taking out the IOD fuse while you have a brew, 15 minutes or so, and see if it coaxes it back in to cooperative mode!
  18. Happy New Year Richard! And I concur with all you said!! Pants to being correct
  19. Merry Christmas to one and all! Especially those with a running, driving, 4th Generation!
  20. You didn't say about the power loss and smoking. Or now only smoking. So I'm not sure what is wrong with it now. People can't help if you don't accurately describe all the problems.
  21. Ah. So, clean the bottle. Then monitor it from there. It could hopefully be something from the cars past.
  22. It's good forum practice to keep a topic to one post, not multiples. If admin could merge them it would be good! In reply to your other picture, as per my previous suggestion. After that your head gasket could be gone. Or you're engine is toast. Can you check for an answer to my question on the state of the oil? If it's what I queried, very old sludgy and sooty, that could be a factor.
  23. Have you ever cleaned it? If not start at that, water will do that over many years! Take it off, no I don't know how on yours, and use something like a bottle brush to clean and flush out the inside of the tank. Oil in the coolant gives a white creamy substance. Unless your oil is so old and black its managed to do that to it!!
