There are a number of videos covering this on youtube. Unfortunately Chrysler uses a electroluminescent film for these displays and you won't be doing this without a soldering iron and a new driver for it. It is quite an in depth repair Mine is still flickering and I have the parts (less the £10) to repair when I finally have time to. Your best bet is to find an auto electrician and hope they can do it for you. Best of luck!

Hi, I don't know how much you have looked at but I have had some similar issues in the past. Things to check: fuses, battery contacts and connections at the back of the unit hopefully something nice and easy because that radio/satnav is by far one of the best features of the car

Sebring Convertible Need Clutch Master Cylinder Help
jonnoj replied to Nicki's question in Chrysler Sebring
Not sure exactly what you need but I would be looking at eBay. This is what came up for my search, obviously without the part in hand I wouldn't know if it's correct https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F372645162814 -
Need A Turbo Pipe And Radiator Pipe Connector
jonnoj replied to fitzy11111's question in Chrysler Sebring
Hi, I don't know about the joining pipe but the turbo/intercooler pipe You can get on eBay if you search for "Jeep patriot intercooler pipe" it should be the first result, but check pictures to confirm. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332452770445 Link might work... Good luck -
The rubber plug is where you fill it from... And it drains... I think it was the bottom left side had the drain... But I can't remember, it was a lot of guesswork finding it in the first place with such a lack of information. I will take a look in the morning and see if I can find the drain again

Glad it's going well!

Yess, that clip pops off quite easy, flat screwdriver or pliers to lift it off

Dead centre of the engine? Quite a large diameter hose? If so yes that's from the intercooler, I have blown mine a few times, if you search eBay for a jeep... Patriot? Maybe... Intercooler hosei got one from Poland for under £40 reinforced it with heat resistant silicon tape. When you have it off it's a good time to look In and see how gummed up the intake side of you engine is. Untill your replacement arrives duct tape, super glue and cable ties and driving a little more gently should get you by.

I might have a look at getting a new map on mine then, otherwise if the map sensor or egr delete work please let us know because they are a relatively cheap fix

Obd Port Location Chrysler Sebring 2.0 Crd 08
jonnoj replied to alucard1uk's question in Chrysler Sebring
Mine is directly below the steering wheel, if you reach toward the brake pedal and feel up beneath the plastic trim should be right in the middle. Hope that helps! -
Ahh, I haven't had mine re-mapped, so that crosses that off the list (did the remap do much good?), and mine started before I changed my fuel, air and cabin filters and didn't get any better after. But I doubt it is fuel related, if I put my foot down it stops, if I come off the accelerator it stops. It is just when trying to maintain a constant speed. Like I say it seems very common for the engine and no one thing seems to fix it, infact I'm yet to see someone claim to have fixed it. Mine feels a bit slow at times when the engine is cold, and the turbo does seem to be a bit delayed but when it's warmed up Ive never felt disappointed with it. It's a nice car, I love the rareity of it and all the luxury features, (I have the 2009 with mygig touchscreen, heated seats and all the trimming) so I'm determined to keep it running well above 300k miles if I can, my wife hates it though
-
Hi I have noted a very similar issue when 'tickling' the accelerator to maintain a speed above 50mph or even as low as 30mph. I have read a lot about it. Unfortunately there are a number of things it could be, injectors, injector/glow wiring harness, MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, throttle, turbo, waste gate, ECU remap... The list is endless, take a look at the forums for Mk5 golf or scoda Octavia, any car with the vw of engine (bkd) there are a few other engine codes similar but ours is ECM according to Chrysler but really it's a bkd.. I have changed a number of parts and still suffer from it, only thing close to a cure I have found so far is to run the engine hard for a few journeys, like you stole it. But after a short while it's back. If you do find a cure for it, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post it in our forum it is a frustrating minor problem people seem to have to settle with... Good luck!

When looking at your engine bay, behind the air intake filter box, your looking right at the back, take out the air box for more space to get to it, I think it's only a couple of bolts to get it free and then it's not so hard to change

Sorry can you describe the problem with a bit more detail? Like your losing power when driving and when idling the engine is struggling? Do you have any check engine lights on?

Any Help, Engine Light On/cd Multi Disk Player
jonnoj replied to pinkpigy's question in Chrysler Sebring
The engine light means you have an error code, best to get someone to scan it, where about are you in the UK? As for the multi cd thing I don't know, possibly under the passenger seat? Good luck -
Very interesting, I take it it's the same thing if you start from turned right and turn left past center?

Iratecabbie the tpms issue isn't an expensive problem, origional pressure sensors are pricey, but get some autel Mx sensors, I got 4 and a programmer for £120, once installed they picked up and started working within half a mile. I just reached the 110k mark and now had to change inner and outer tie/track rods. Also chasing a abs issue (u0121) lost communication Glow plugs 2 and 3 are flagging up as in fault Finally engine overboost condition.. But I still think it's a great car!

Weekly Battery Drain! Help (Think Its The Alarm!)
jonnoj replied to Elegnem555's question in Chrysler Sebring
Also the battery being weak/fluctuating voltage because of bad contact can have crazy effects, mine had the windows stop working and radio wouldn't turn off till I pulled the fuse, the wipers wouldn't work, lights would flicker like crazy and still occasionally do. All of this got better after I cleaned the battery contacts -
Weekly Battery Drain! Help (Think Its The Alarm!)
jonnoj replied to Elegnem555's question in Chrysler Sebring
Regards your battery, I had a similar issue, before you pay a penny, take apart the contacts on the right of the engine bay, where the jump start points are, one by one sand them clean so they are making good contact again, a mechanic recommended adding extra ground cables from certain points, but just a clean has worked for me. Regarding paint, I wish could help but I have resprayed parts of mine, I also have bubbling on the front edge of the bonnet, probably a common issue. As for finding a dealer, Chrysler don't sell to the UK anymore and would probably avoid being any help. You could try a jeep dealer? Good luck and I hope the battery problem is a easy fix -
Not experienced that, but check all of your fuses, in mine one blown fuse has crazy consequences

Sebring 2001 Automatic Transmission Problems
jonnoj replied to SebringLA's question in Chrysler Sebring
Unfortunately I don't have much experience with automatics, so I would be dropping the gearbox and rebuilding. But thats probably not what you want to hear. Hope you find a solution. -
I was going to say, it's probably possible, but for the cost it would be easier and probably cost around the same, i would just go for the bearings, they usually sell in pairs, I had new ones on the front of mine for less then £100 parts and labour. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! certainly something for me to look into, I have a battery ordered as mine seems to be running down to about 11.6 overnight so before I fit it I think It will be worth having the alternator tested professionally, from my own testing iv not spotted reverse polarity but being as it would happen so fast I'm not sure my tester would spot it. Typically from cold my alt puts out 13.5-14.2 then once warm 14.0-14.6 but fluctuates a bit, I thought the low cold voltage may be because of the low battery? Do you know if this is normal considering the battery seems to be failing? Obviously living with saving money in mind I don't really want to spend too much at once. Also any ideas what alternator fits the 2.0 crd? unfortunately dealerships I have spoke with seem to suggest my car doesn't exsist so finding detailed info on parts is a bit of a headscratching excersise Thanks

I'm not certain, but I think the engine is mercades not vw. Or at least that's what the previous owner told me and dodge brought engines off mercades so there's a chance? Let me know if you find anything out for sure please?
