glitteringprize replied to glitteringprize's question in Chrysler 300c
Thankyou sir for the reply, does this setting apply to the 3 ltr diesel 300c crd. -
Hi,does anyone know the correct torque setting for the banjo bolt on the front caliper .This attaches the brake pipe to the caliper.Thankyou.

The pt cruiser was a great car for poeple who like customizing things,i always wanted one but at the time was out of my financial range. Then i saw the massive mean head turning looks of the 300c.I have a large caravan and wanted a change from a 4x4 so this fitted the bill.Im not a fan of estate cars but in my view the 300c estate is better looking than the saloon. And more practical.I kind of feel like im going back to my stately home when im driving it,you simply could not get better value for money. It also helps if you can do bits and bobs yourself otherwise your pocket linings wont last long.

Ive Finally Done My Brakes Rebuild
glitteringprize replied to glitteringprize's question in Chrysler 300c
the guage is a caliper that measures internal one side and external on the other.simply set the gauge to inside dia of the rear hub then using the other side pass over the shoes and adjust handbrake until it just touches as you pass gauge over. This needs to be top and bottom centre of the shoes. -
I have the 2007 crd estate and my caravan is a lunar freelander.28ft long.I dont even know its there going across the moors to whitby. Also retains excellent acceleration.Great tow car and for size and weight superb mpg with diesel.

auto rear wheel drive in snow.Dont stand a chance.I would hire a 4x4 and leave the 300c in the garage

Just before xmas i decided to renew my discs and pads.Little did i know of the horrors that were hiding and damn dangerous.Pass front, bleed nipple siezed, sliding pins bent and seized, rubber seals perrished.Pass rear, handbrake actuator siezed and upside down, pads worn, drivers rear, handbrake actuator seized, shoes worn to metal, mounting pins and springs broken allowing shoes to rotate.Drivers front, caliper seized. All discs were corroded and worn.So i have fitted new discs and pads, new handbrake shoes and mounting kit, rebuilt front caliper carrier, had both front calipers rebuilt.I reset handbrake shoes using a measuring gauge. Finally bled all brakes to pull a litre of fresh fluid through and went out and bedded them in with the 60mph to 20mph several times option. After 6 weeks and hard work its finally working as it should.Cost a bit though.

Is There Anyone Actually On Here
glitteringprize replied to glitteringprize's topic in Chrysler Chat
Yes there are plenty of these in usa.And considering what you get for your money im surprized they are not more popular here -
not done it on one of these before.but yes gently pushed pistons back to allow new pads to fit new discs.Bedded them in,pulled a litre of fluid through bleeding all 4 calipers to get fresh dot3 all over

I have posted 2 questions regarding a 300c,the responce is zero.Looking at other threads most seem the same,is there anyone there hello, hello, hello ??????????

Im currently fitting new discs and pads.Ive also had a caliper refurbed and fitted some new sliding pins on the caliper carrier. So when the car is jacked up,and you press the brake the wheel locks, release brake and it spins,im doing this several times on each wheel. So if all is well but when driving they stick or bind what does that indicate.Any advice would be good.

glitteringprize replied to glitteringprize's topic in Newbie Forum
Yes its the 300c diesel estate. We are unsure wether to sell it and get a 4x4 again .Just seems to be a pain especially considering how much it cost. So,are these cars any good,i know they look good and are nice to drive but that dont get us on holiday
