  1. Hi, I have a 2006 Grand Voyager 3.3 Could anyone identify the part (picture attached) that protrudes from the near side inner door frame, slides up and down and engages with a pin that protrudes from the rear of the door assembly when closed. This is only on the passenger side of a RHD UK car. I am having the following issues that could all be related and would like to eliminate this lever. Both rear doors do not operated electronically Single beep from the alarm when arming Any ideas and thoughts very welcome. Thank you.

Please see classified. This forum has been so helpful with issues large and small and would like to thank all contributors, keep at it, it is so helpful. All the best for 2021. I will be back! Graeme

  4. Hi, we have a 3.3 petrol, the cruise control failed whilst driving through France in a similar way to yours. The cruise control works on a vacuum system, there is a small vacuum pipe attached to the manifold that becomes brittle and cracks over time (see pic). We fixed ours with a straw until we could do it properly, it worked although not 100%. Hopefully yours is as simple. Good luck. Graeme
  5. I noticed in Tesco the other day that Timpson the shoe repair people provide a car key cutting service including remote keys. Take a look here; https://www.timpson.co.uk/services/car-keys not sure how they would deal with a Chrysler key, maybe worth a try.
  6. Thank you for the prompt response Penguin, having thought about it we have been travelling through Spain over the last few years sometimes at 40C + so not surprising I guess, I was just surprised at what I found. I have replaced the said fan with a new (old) one and everything is back to normal with not too much damage to the radiator. See pic. Thanks Graeme
  7. Hello After a long trip yesterday I was drawn to lifting the bonnet today for some reason, everything looked good until I noticed a piece of plastic at the bottom of one of the radiator fans. Further investigation found that the fan was completely stripped of blades some of which were at the bottom of the housing, anyone know of any logical reason for this (all my sockets and screw drivers are present) and what would be the cheapest and easiest way of repairing it? Thanks Graeme 2003 Chrysler Voyager LX 3.3L
  8. Well done with the changing of the top strut mounts, a big job? prompted me look at mine which are fortunately OK. I have a 3.3 that had the abs light permanently on, after performing the key sequence it indicated the abs wheel sensors, like you I was under pressure to sort before the MOT so ordered on a next day took no time to fit. MOT failed on something else...... Hope this helps, let us know how you get on. Good luck.
  9. Parts sale. Not sure if I should be doing this or even if this is the right place to do it, I receive the Rockauto newsletter and they have a 'Closeout' sale at the moment, although I am specifically interest in 3.3L parts there may be other parts available for your model. Information can be found at; https://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeeds.php?carcode=1431475&m=wc&l=en&html=true Don't forget you will have to pay carriage and VAT, try to buy from one warehouse saves on carriage. Please let me know if this is of any interest or not as you might all receive the newsletter anyway. Happy Voyaging Graeme
  10. Noise update. Well, I ordered an alternator from West Lancs Auto and it arrived the next day complete with all return details, the date you have to return it by and a lollipop! You have fourteen days to change the alternator (this can be extended by contacting them), once changed the old one is packed in the same packaging and taken to your local DPD collection. Cost is included in the original price, pleasure to do business with such an efficient company. Anyway the noise, having taken the belt off there was no immediate evidence of the issue until I spun the pulley it was not spinning true as if it was bent not sure if this is the bearings or the shaft. Hooray no noise , odd to drive the car without it singing to you bad news is you can now hear the other noises !!! I will have a go at loading a video later. Thank you to all who have contributed to this forum I have been viewing it for advice for years. Graeme
  11. OK thank you. The alternator looks like the original as I haven't changed it under my ownership of 8 years and 55k miles, so the bearings might feel a little sorry for themselves. Previously in the topic you mentioned West Lancs Auto and in my post midnight messaging session I filled in their form and they responded at 7:02am this morning (wow), at which point after your message I confirmed I had put in the right information this was their quote; Option 1 £198.00 Option 2 £144.00 Option 1New Premium Brand Alternator sourced from one of the industry’s leading aftermarket suppliers, which would be compatible with ALL the leading brands in the aftermarket including Lucas, Bosch and Remy (which are in the main rebuilt exchange units). Option 2Original equipment remanufactured Alternator sourced from one of the industry’s leading aftermarket suppliers, which would be compatible with new. Both options include VAT and are covered by the same 18 Month Warranty* and in most cases with free delivery to the UK main land. RockAuto's prices range from £81 to £276 + Carriage + VAT for a new one, so bit of a no brainer really. So alternator it is, I'll let you know how I get on. Many thanks Graeme
  12. Thank you for your prompt response. Based on your comments I went to check again this morning and unsurprising you are correct the noise gets LOUDER with AC on and in gear, teach me to post after midnight.... With the bonnet up, AC on and in gear, the noise comes from the belt area but there are no obvious signs of the cause. Thanks Graeme
  13. @@bignev I read with interest your comments regarding the alternator. I have a 2003 3.3 LX and this noise has been a problem for some time, it sounds like chitty, chitty bang bang just waiting for the backfire. I have replaced the tensioner, idler pulley and belt and noticed at the time slight play in the water pump pulley so that was going to be the next thing to try. Sitting in a car park thinking what it could be (as you do) switching the AC on and off I put it into gear with the break on, the noise stopped. Searching the forum found this topic and wondered if the problem could be the alternator, is there anything I can do to check this or is it case of just replacing it? Any comments or suggestions welcome. Thanks Graeme
  14. Hi everyone, as a newbie slow to respond please be patient. I found the forum when looking for advice on issues with my 2003 Voyager 3.3L LX. I bought the car with 40k miles on the clock and now it has 96k, I read suggestions that when it reaches 80k that is when I will start to have issues and when it reached about 83k it did....... So I am hoping that the forum will help keep her alive for many more miles.. Many thanks Graeme
