  1. Quick update on this....... Stripped all apart today and the problem lies with the new crankshaft oil seal that sits behind the flywheel..... it would appear that the metal used to make it is to thin, about 1mm. Thusly meaning the flywheel bolted back to tight against the crankcase. I bought it off eBay for 35 quid so I would say its a bad case of buy cheap buy twice. Going to speak to Chrysler on Monday and see what a genuine part will set me back. Will keep you posted
  2. Thanks for your responses. I am going to brave the cold and attack it this weekend even if it means a full strip down again :-S Just incase a full strip is required would anyone know the correct torque settings for the flywheel? I have got this emotional feeling that I over torqued it and it’s bound solid on the crank case. But I will give it a good go to prove otherwise Thanks in advance
  3. Would doing this also prove that the flywheel is not to tight and binding? i.e with car in gear and the clutch down does the flywheel turn as well when the wheel is turned? Many thanks for your responses I am pretty good at mechanical work but have never come across this before so a little stumped on the diagnosis side of it, short of taking it all apart and starting again
  4. Slightly confused ?‍♂️ one thing I never mentioned it’s a manual gearbox.... how will jacking the back up help? As it’s a FWD Thankyou for your response
  5. Hi all, I have just replaced the clutch and rear crankshaft seal on my 2003 GV have got the car completely built back up and the engine has seized solid it won’t even turn with a bar on the crack pully..... I fear I may have done up the flywheel bolts to tight I done them to 100nm Can anyone confirm if this is far to tight and have the correct torque spec for it, or simply any other suggestions of things to try before I take the box back off. Many thanks in advance
