Sadly have to sell. My daughter uses it while Im away, last autumn she broke down on M40, [Was a fluid leak from rack]. 12 hrs before AA got to her. [ scared the ---- out of her] Then they charged her 600 quid to get her 80 mile home....Even tho have spent 1000's she now refuses to drive the thing. Just had a pre MOT done [has a Mot til May I think] needs a sill and ABS light on having changed all the sensors. Done in last few K's Front end rebuild inc steering rack, tie rods, drop links, struts etc etc , radiator, thermostat, egr and egr solinoid, front wheel bearing pads inc rear, nivomats off and replaced with good used ones plus new bushings, alternator, [water pump/chain etc 2 1/2 yrs ago] Last year had new filter/fluid changed on box plus engine oil changed [1000 mile since] air filters both engine and pollen. Starts on the button runs great [I keep seats stowed mostly as lower gravity really helps with driveability] Has the luggage cover, roof rack and all the 'bits' supplied when new inc headphones ect [never use any of them so always stored indoors] As I say I love this thing, even moved home with it [rather than hire a van] Hoping to sell before the 24th as leave country again for 3 months so need to have her set up before doing so. Am south of Wrexham BTW Accepting offers Tks Keith

LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY SOURCE/PART NUMBER?
brit644 replied to brit644's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
As mentioned had both sides done maybe 1500 miles ago. The noise was a knock originally so managed to get on a lift. There was little movements hear and there so within the week had both drop links changed, sway buses, tie rods etc etc. Finally I asked mech [he's a friend who's a mechanic for big building co that allows private work after hrs]to drive the thing..'its the bloody shock''.... Thing is they still look new so its not something you expect. He didnt install them, he suspects it wasnt installed correctly on that side [passenger] I remember viewing the guy taking it out, somehow he was trying to disassemble ON THE VEHICLE [shock had gone thru the spring sideways and poking into the wheelarch]..the spring shot across the bay missing his head by inches. Anyway, noise is now extremely loud, right/left turn stationary, forward/reverse move even 3 ft... any movement you can hear it What I was after was the whole thing including spring for straight swap with no sprng compression involved..Appears not available, you can get the version for petrol...which states petrol only. Post Script... Again the abs light comes on after playing down there, did it last I had brakes done, changed the sensors which fixed it, that was 600 miles ago.... These cars are like a hypochondriac, slight changes and they think they're ill -
LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY SOURCE/PART NUMBER?
brit644 replied to brit644's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Its the strut/shock top bearing, Changed both sides with Macpherson only 1400 miles ago. All looks relatively newish but the initial knock sound is now as mentioned bag o spanners. Pretty sure the fitting is at fault. [Think it was a hangover from the spring firing past the mechanic as he freed the shock while still in situ..which had managed to pierce the side of the spring as the whole thing collapsed when driving over a deep pot hole So, am after the whole thing inc spring if poss. [replaced both hubs last year btw] -
LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY SOURCE/PART NUMBER?
brit644 posted a question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
ANYONE KNOW OF A SOURCE [UK] FOR THE ABOVE? [2.8 DIESEL VERSION 2007] HAD BOTH SIDES DONE, LEFT BEARING COLLAPSED [SOUNDS LIKE BAG O SPANNERS] THINK A FITTING MISTAKE BY MECHANIC NOT DOING IT MYSELF SO HAD A WORD WITH A MECH WHO I TRUST AND WEIGHING THE SITUATION, TIME TO STRIP AND REBUILD IT'S MORE COST EFFECTIVE TO STRAIGHT SWAP. USUAL SOURCE ONLY HAS THOSE FOR PETROL VERSION. THANKS FOR INFOIN ADVANCE KEITH -
Thanks for that...Will get on with it. Luckily I have the twin to the one lost/misplaced. Hopefully that may hold useful info.

Anyone know of a source for key and fob ? [I know the key itself has a transponder] [Mech says he left it on wheel for me to collect vehicle, wasn't there, Probably wont admit he lost it, luckily had a spare, but this shows how necessary a spare is ] I know you can get a key cut but the transponder is usually donated from original. Then of course theres the fob..which am told can be paired to the original. Tks Keith

Thanks for that Got under this morning after putting fluid in [got somebody to turn steering]..Peeing out of the rack. Hoses are fine as is pump [it appears] Sadly had that rack built less than 1000 miles ago...not correctly it appears. Source for a rack????

Grand Voyager 2.8l 2007 Power steering blew on M40 [noticed hard steering, pulled over was empty, filled up, empty again 1 mile] Any help on part numbers plus sources for constituent parts like hoses/pump etc. Havent investigated as yet. Took me from Tuesday lunch to Thursday late to get 80 mile to home via recovery [700 quid by AA..10 MILES PER TIME..thats why its called RELAY] Thanks for any info Keith

Thanks for that. Mine is a 2007 Stow And Go, think theyre slightly different in the routing etc. I know 06/07 are the same. I think problem is the guy, he tried to tell me I needed new discs and pads all around, I personally replaced pads 400 miles gone, discs last year and have done 1200 mile on them...Along with telling me I need all new cables, adjusters etc etc etc, put simply he's trying it on. And there's the rub, once caught in a fib you've made an enemy. So much so that when I asked for my car he said it's in pieces on the lift..In fact it was parked rear of the building..Oh hum....'' But thanks again for the note.

Just been told by MOT station I need to change my discs and pads for handbrake to work [disc brakes all round] I know something iffy as I just changed pads myself AND DISCS WERE FIINE] i said thought they were shoes for handbrake,he said no they work ofF rear wheel drums as they have pads and shoes in them WHAT.

Mine was egr solenoid..which I found for 9 dollars last I was in USA, actually from main dealer Couldnt find one in UK

Thanks for that I accept your comment on the abbreviated form of stating the problem You may have something there. I noticed it is now intermittent, slow sharp 360 left turn had it disappear...at least til next time I fired up, whereupon it remained lit until the next sharp turn Actually warming light did go out after pressure washing the wheels [live in a farming community...deep mud everywhere] Which reminds me My key would not work, doing the ignition key fault/code find it showed faulty/wrong key. I called AA, immediately he crawled under the front WD 40 in hand. Appears a common call out for them. Direct wire from ignition to starter motor [for the alarm system] when dirty, wet, rusty or bad connection throws the fault disabling ignition Next dry weather shall explore shall explore sensor integrity.

Abs light. Had new tyres put on front, turned key and light on, asked the guy who said it will go off at 30mph, didnt, then said 30 mins, didnt. Now tells me [120 miles later] that as there is more tread on the front therefore turning at less revolutions than the rear it is normal...wtf.....He took exception to my laughter. He did plug a reader in, said he would have to pay for the ABS download, which he refused. Me thinks a clumsy refit, and/or a yank on something [I keep my locking nut in the storage box under the passenger seat] Any comments would be thankfully received Keith

Driven 100 Miles Help Required
brit644 replied to Madmax's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Pre heat only works if 100 miles of fuel left. Also can be turned off, just keep testing by turning off heating, will turn off quicker than on auto..which is preset -
Mine was egr tube, mechanic welded it, 8000 mile no prob. You can buy them, maybe 40 quid
-
Egr solenoids hard to find [dealers dont have them] Mine had gone, last I was in USA I bought 5 from main Chrysler dealer

If therm has a elec connection [later model] then its default sticks halfway closed. Mine heated on long hills. If you get a therm get the connector too [assuming urs has that], extra 20 odd quid When shopping give vin, my reg shows different parts..which were wrong [how they were put together in Austria to oblige EU regs]

Voyager 2.5 Crd 2003 Injector Testing.
brit644 replied to VoyagerPig69's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Leak down test in situ...Getting em out, will have black death probably. If leaking often shows in oil..fuel that is. Mine was egr plus egr solenoid, that should show on key dance but not always on tester -
2007 GV .2.8 auto transmission..Told low pressure sensor gone [ wants to skip 1 to 3 but drives fine other than that] Anyone replaced one? in out of box? Oh, ideas on where to find box type/number. This is a late model for that year, lots of parts are wrong using reg # and have to use vin, [many come with elec connections not seen in earlier models..like therm] TKS

Frightening Occurence Of Cutting Out [Electrics]
brit644 replied to brit644's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
iTS A strange one. Happened couple years ago while driving to Spain. Steep downhill gradient, just happened to be looking at dash to watch my speed [plenty cops around] and went blank, rev/speed counter to zero then just as quickly returned to normal. Happened once more on return trip but not since...[2 yrs] until last week.... -
Frightening Occurence Of Cutting Out [Electrics]
brit644 posted a question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Three times this week with no warning Just got oil changed. About an hr later while at traffic lights all dashboard disappeared...Happened to be looking as the dials as they went to zero, plus any illumination went also. Then yesterday same happened while driving then again today while sat idling Car runs great, had all the filters inc fuel changed maybe 200 miles past. Thing is it doesnt stop running, wellI think not, theres a slight loss of revs but it recovers so fast I cant tell if its stalled Worrying as have a 200 mile journey tomorrow [aid worker... not hols] with time constraints..... Strange thing..heart in mouth for a second, but of course has you straring at the dash constantly... Anyone else experineced this or heard the like??? Thanks K -
Yeh, mechanic blanked egr as I say year afore last. Key dance showed code for egr solenoid. Could only find used on ebay so bought a few in USA last I was there. Cured it straight away. I have the late 2007 model. Half way thru the year specs changed [some Euro thing] to have a sensor on the therm..which is sold separately. Luckily I gave vin as reg# gives wrong part # 'Electric' therm is different...as default it remains half closed not full open [had the often noted hill overheating problem] Have had vehicle couple years, have changed most things as fortunate to work in USA quite a bit [am an aid worker]....and main dealer if given vin can get parts as this engine is in the Jeep liberty there. I did check with all past owners, vehicle has 170k miles now....injectors havent been touched at all. Mechanic who I trust [he got front shock/springs parted in 90 secs a feat] says leak test wont prove anything much, that they should be fully tested by injector shop and rebuilt where needed... 25 oer test nothing charged if ok, rebuilt then 90 quid. The week off road is not good right now.
