If I remember correctly, It selects whether the cigarette lighter socket is powered permanently from the battery or is only powered from the ignition.

Try giving the boot struts a good oiling. I thought mine were failing and gave a wd40 spray to the hinges at each end and also where the strut "telescopes" and it fixed it.

I bought a cheap Bluetooth transmitter it was about a tenner, maybe 15. It's a fast charger as well and I can do next track and volume from it instead of touching the phone. The quality is easily good enough for the car. -

Engine Light On
Carrotts replied to Victorthevoyager's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
When the key is turned all the way anticlockwise it is in accessory mode and all the way clockwise is start, don't go as far as these two. I'm not at the car at the minute or I could probably explain better. Have you managed to read codes in the past on the voyager. I have a cheap Bluetooth reader and it won't talk to the car. -
Engine Light On

Have a look at this. The trick is to not go all the way to either end when you turn the key. Also I think you leave it at on the last time, not sure though. -
Engine Light On
Carrotts replied to Victorthevoyager's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
I would persevere with the key turn trick, have you got it to work in the past. My engine light comes on regularly and it seems to be either fuel pressure or egr valve. Neither seem to have any effect on the car at all. The only problem I have is the light comes on that often I've got a little complacent with it. When either of these issues cause the light to come on it clears after a few starts, I think third time I start it after the light comes on but it may be four. If you can get the codes someone on here will help you though. Cheers Dave -
Hi johngee The pump in the engine compartment just in front of the off side wheel. If you turn the steering wheel all the way left you can loosen the wheel arch and get to it. I checked mine and it was ok the problem I had was the pipe was loose in the boot I had to unclip the carpet and the pipe runs up the back off side corner of boot. There is a one way valve that is a push fitting. The pipe had come out of it. It's been fine since but my car smells about when it's sunny. Hope this helps Dave

Hi Austin Sorry to hear about your problems and hope you get sorted. I wondered if I could pick your brains a little though. You.mwntion that your transmission cooler pipes had rusted and I'm having the same problem. I was wondering if it was possible to cut them at the ends as they seem ok and then joint in so e pipe, maybe some kind of micro bore or similar. Did you call sider anything like this and if you did what made you go for the copper instead. My transmission radiator is fine and it is just the steel pipes at the radiator end that have corroded. Thanks Dave

Transmission Radiator Interconnect Pipe
Carrotts posted a question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Hi all, I thought my grand voyager had a leak on the transmission gasket so bought one and a filter. When a friend of mine went to replace the gasket he noticed that the leak seemed to be coming from further up, probably the pipes interconnecting the transmission and radiator. Is this a common fault, and does anyone know how easy they are to replace or repair and if I need to buy new pipes are they expensive? Thanks for any suggestions Dave -
Cheers bignev. I'll have to invest in a small cushion ;-).

The seats fold into the floor but I do it manually, is that stow and go? It's not a major issue and I agree with you it's ok with the seat back adjusted a bit. Thanks Carrotts

Hi all. I've just bought a grand voyager and I am loving it so far. Is there any way to change the angle of the seats in the rear as they seem a bit steep, the front is higher than the rear. My missus is uncomfortable in them and the baby seat we use is tipped up quite a bit. It's only a minor gripe and it's nowhere near the end of the world. Thanks carrotts
