No and not common for any FCA product . I've had mine for nearly four years and it's been a good car over the last 30k.Like any car, condition and history is everything! If you don't buy a car with your eyes open, and a thorough inspection of a cars cosmetic and mechanical condition as best you can, or by taking a Tech with you if you're unsure, then you leave yourself wide open. It sounds like you've bought an unloved one that's been ragged hard.
-
Now I'd class the Delta as small, and the Fiat 500 as tiny...
-
Looks like you're screwed then! Always a gamble when you buy a second hand head unit without the code...
-
Actually there is another 2.0 pretty similar for sale at the mo...
-
Well you can't sell it unless its advertised lol. It sounds to me that you just need to let go of your feelings and get on with it, or sell that Abarth now you've had your mid-life crisis and keep the better car!
-
Is it worth sending them the pics and seeing if one of them matches? Sometimes it could be on one of them you don't use the letters for example.
-
Are you sure it should be 14 digits long? It must be one of those on top of the head unit surely? In answer to your question though, no. It's the only way as far as I'm aware. I've had to request codes a few times for various Alfa's in the past, and that was what they wanted. There used to be a guy on Alfa Owner that did it for free. You just posted the serial number on the thread and he replied with the code.

I've got a spare as I kept the (old) good one. Wonder if they're the same? Have you actually advertised the car properly yet, or just on a few fb pages?

The other issue to be aware of with 939 series cars (159/Brera/Spider) is rotting subframes. The subframes weren't especially well treated/protected when fitted, and the engine tray holds water against it, so loads of cars are either having to have them replaced or repaired if not too bad. I nearly bought a Brera last week for the Mrs as it was a bargain, however the MOT history listed subframe rust for the last 5 years, and rear suspension rust too. So potentially a couple of grand to get the car straight underneath. I questioned the seller and he completely glossed over it! Very foolish these days trying to hide things when there's so much info available.

No idea unfortunately. I think it's only Rosso on here that has the OEM Sat Nav?

Shame the 1750tbi engine wasn't around when the Prodrive was produced... Although I'll be hated for saying this, the 2.4 5 cylinder diesel is a great engine! Mine was mapped with a few other mods to 287bhp, and 502nm of torque. Unbelievably quick!!!!
-
Not the best engine to be honest. They have a hesitation problem that can be mapped out, but at least the prodrive exhaust back boxes make it have some sound as in standard form they're pretty muted. The Vauxhall boys have played with super chargers lol to try and give it some ooomph!
-
2.2 or 3.2 though? Presuming the V6 is what you're after? Prices are still climbing too, so I'd get while they're still relatively affordable lol.
-
I wasn't aware that Any Mito had electronic dampers to be honest, and we've had a few!? (155bhp Veloce, 1.6jtdm Distinctive & 1.4ma)
-
Ouch I can feel your pain Andrew!! Well that's a good lesson we've learnt at your (time) expense lol, and at least you got to the bottom of the problem... They don't make things easy for us do they! Bloody Italians!! It's like things like the gear leaver silver or piano black surround that the leather gear leaver gator attaches into. Would you believe that there is a left and right hand drive version as the centre console is 'handed'!? I mean why would you bother??? Surely production costs would be less if they weren't! Doh!
-
What issues did they find with cylinders 2&3 then? That sounds more worrying than the turbo to be honest! I had a turbo flutter on my 1.6JTDM last year when coming off boost quickly. It gradually became more apparent as time went on, so I sent the turbo to a friend of mine who's the technical director at Turbo Technics here in the UK. They stripped it down, did an ultrasonic clean of all the internals and then replaced most of it, pressure tested it, and sent it back as new again. To be honest I still can hear a slight flutter occasionally when I come off the loud pedal quickly, so I do wonder if something else is causing it? I've no boost leaks or split hoses as far as I can tell. Plenty of Alfisti have gone hybrid with turbo's, so that's one option. When I had a 1750tbi 159 Sportwagon, I remember there being two different turbo's for that engine. Although I have a feeling they weren't a straight swap, but that was 7 years ago, so can't remember exactly?

Might be worth trying a local repair shop if they can diagnose and give you a quote to see it its economical to repair or not. Have a look on eBay here and in Italy and see if anyone's selling a second hand one? I'm pretty sure I sold mine on?
-
Yeah that's crazy! Get yourself on Italian eBay...
-
Well still not found the one... Keep toying with a Fiat Coupe, but then getting cold feet! Think maybe an Alfa GT Q2 170bhp in red, or a Brera might be easier to live with, although neither are retro!
-
You should!
-
Give us a part number then for future reference lol... Bound to be one of us next!!
-
Did you manage to fix it in the end?
-
Did you actually find any in stock though? Plenty of places were showing stock, but don't hold them, instead relying on Eibach in Germany to fulfill the order. Hence the end of August delivery dates...

Yeah seemed very sudden after his shoulder operation! The market shares plummeted twice, once on his replacement with Mike Manley (at least he's British) and then again when he died. So obviously the market is nervous too about the future of FCA. To be fair Marchionne did save Fiat from bankruptcy which in direct terms saved everything else being carved up and sold off! Can't say I like the decade of starvation for Alfa, or how Lancia has been left to die. But on the flipside Maserati is growing and at least Alfa have had the Giulia and Stelvio recently, although out of reach for the many unless you're a PCP buffoon!

Have a look on Eper here for the part number: http://eper.fiatklubpolska.pl/navi?FORCED=TRUE Then you can search on-line for the replacement...
