Yes I'd be interested to know what he says too... Neil was supposed to post some pic's of his Martini stripes, but think he's a bit inundated with work/life at the mo, hence the lack of posts....

Also on some can bus systems you have to 'divorce' a component that you are removing then 'marry' the new one to the system to stop any conflicts. I might invest in Fiat ecu scan when I'm back home as I always have at leat one Alfa/Lancia/Fiat in the family... I'm in Qatar at the moment hence what looks like a really early post... (08.45 here)

Yeah as said before I've done a few of these before so know the drill! Power was off for a good 30 mins before I did anything...

Between £50 - £80 from our Italian cousins... just make sure you ONLY buy a new one and not second hand! There's always a few on Italian eBay if you wait long enough you'll get one at the right price... You will the mileage flashing issue resetting afterwards though... I still haven't got round to having mine reset yet. The flashing whilst annoying isn't too bad as it's not enough to distract you.

Yeah I've driven and tuned the 1.9 dth twin turbo and really like the flexibility it offers, although anything beyond about 220bhp and 335nm makes it difficult to drive... The 2.4L 5 cylinder diesel as fitted in the Brera/159 is on the other hand much more flexible and an amazing once tuned. My 939 Spider was running circa 290bhp and 515nm which made for a stunningly quick diesel.... I wonder if it's still alive lol! I'll have to look up the reg and see if it's still on the road!

Yes Dace are fairly local to me... I've never bought anything from them to be honest. They used to be a bit of a back street trader, who seem to have grown through strong internet presence. The showroom/forecourt is on an industrial estate with the likes of Screwfix etc... and I think they have another forecourt on the A6 heading out of town. It seems to have very mixed reviews which doesn't entirely surprise me: See here: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews203471.html I don't particularly like dealers as most at best throw a bucket of water over them, and then try to move them on for £2.5 - £3k profit hoping you don't spot all of the problems. I'm a car dealers worst nightmare, because generally I'll know more about the car than they do, have eyes like a sh*t house rat and don't miss a thing... I also dabbled in the trade for a while so know most of the tricks they pull. I got £800 off my Delta, two new matching premium tyres and the dent guy to go all over it removing any blemishes. I'm still fairly enthusiastic but the Delta's aren't particularly quick even with a remap... I used to have to do an advanced driving assessment once a year as I did more than 40k business miles a year...can't say it slowed me down much, just made my internal radar work harder lol

Yeah I'm familiar with it as I've driven both a 159ti Sportwagon in 2.4L 5 cylinder diesel form and a 1.9tdi Saab Aero and thought it was alright, if a little lack lustre... I found it changed up too quickly when trying to make fast progress and wasn't great at changing down either when you needed it to. I guess it depends on your driving style as I thought it worked well in the Freelander. Was the one in Manchester at 'Dace Motors' in Stockport?

Sat Nav doesn't need internet providing you download one with off-line maps... I'm still trying to find a good one to be honest, or waiting for Navplus in Italy to confirm what the proper model is underneath the skin so I can update the one already installed. For Google and any internet services you will need to tether off your phone unless you're parked outside your own house and you can simply connect to the wi-fi. I do this for any updates or for downloading new Apps...

Why an automatic? Fiat/Alfa/Lancia autos are not renowned for being excellent... Although I believe the new TCT in the Alfa 4c and now the new face lifted Guilietta is good.
-
Hmm interesting... Well keep us posted on how you get on, and I hope you get it sorted! Was it expensive, or did you find an off-shore supplier doing it cheaply?
-
Yep getting the car first would probably be a good idea lol! Have you found one yet, or are you still trawling the classifieds?
-
What what's wrong with it fella? Is the reception good?
-
Ryan you just need the standard removal tool like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-RADIO-REMOVAL-TOOLS-KEYS-PINS-PAIR-CITROEN-FORD-PEUGEOT-VAUXHALL-/191489085612?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2c95a390ac Insert them into the two holes either side of the fascia and you'll feel a click as it engages and pushes the locking pins in. Then you can just pull the radio out gently and once clear of the aperture unplug the cables at the rear... Make sure you eject any CD you may have prior to disconnection lol!

Yes Tow bars are available... In fact one of the ones for sale at the moment has fitted. I tried attaching the accessories brochure but the attachment was too big for this forum... Here's the part numbers: Detachable Tow bar* 50902301 Part No. 50902301 Tow bar cable 7 pin* 50902302 Part No. 50902302 Tow bar cable 13 pin* 50902303 Part No. 50902303 adaptor 7/13 pins* 50902304 Also Witter (Market leaders in tow bars) do them and tbh I'd probably get one from them rather than a Chrysler dealer who'll charge you the earth! Part No. 50902304

How have you got on fella?

Morning Rosso! Yes it was exactly as expected, and the holes aren't noticeable at all as they are at the back and almost seal up again. As you're only piercing the skin on the existing holes it's only like cutting a slit so once the flat blade screwdriver is removed they almost disappear. The only advise I can give you is that you need to 'feel' for the spring loaded release bar which is towards the back of the hole away from you and towards the windscreen if that makes any sense.
-
No worries fella... It's not that difficult to install as its been designed specifically for the Delta. All of the wiring is just plug 'n' play once you understand which cable is for what, and then it's just a matter of routing the cables carefully from the windscreen and glove box.

Yes it comes with a small in-line black box (DVB TV) which you hide away in the dash. You connect the two supplied TV aerials to it and these mount in the windscreen.one horizontally and the other vertically. Ideally I'd have run them to the back of the car for better reception but the rear quarter windows are too small so I mounted them in top left hand corner of the windscreen. When you select Digital TV from the menu it just works like any other Freeview so has everything from Sky News to Dave!

Yeah tried that this afternoon but it doesn't support house numbers...It says it does but when it asks you for the number after finding the street the icon doesn't let you change the keyboard from letters to numbers!

Hey no problem at all fella, always happy to help Ryan their own website is here (in English too): http://www.almigliorprezzo.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=55 If like me you hadn't already had a Nav unit in as standard you'll need an extra cable loom with the Cambus box, but they'll include that too... So far I've been really impressed with it as it's the same as having an Android tablet but fitted in your dash. The only niggles I have so far are when you open the drivers door it shows the passenger one open and vice versa? Weirdly though the rear doors show the right way around? Secondly the ''iGo Primo navigation only has Italy pre-installed so you have to go to the 'Naviextras' website and purchase 'Europe'. Now because I don't know what the real brand is behind Navplus I'm not able to select the right version of compatible Sat Nav software... So I'm going to email them and ask a few questions. I have downloaded Google Maps and Navigation which is free and works well, but you need to have the unit tethered to your android phone (internet access) for it to work.. There is also a 'factory' menu option available on one of the screens, but it's password protected and I think things like default preferences are hidden there, so for example setting the unit to right hand drive... Anyway we're only over the hills from each other, so if you wanted to have a look before you buy you're more than welcome to come and have a play.

Belated Happy New Year Penguin! Yeah I've had Falken in the past too and always found them to be a good mid range tyre... I think for the money though this time you could have had premiums for that price if you'd shopped around a bit more!? I'd put Falken in the same bracket as Khumo esta le sports (which are great also) and I can get those for less £70 a corner fitted and balanced... (just paid £260 for all 4 on the wife's 147)
