One of the metal brackets hides it slightly... Your best bet is to squirt them with the bonnet open and look through the windscreen. My engine bay was saturated...
-
Yeah I've already got these in my watch list... I wanted to see what yours looked like before taking the plunge!
-
Yeah it's really easy. There is a spring clip that you just insert a flat blade screwdriver into at both ends and the strut just pops off. Be careful though as the weight of the tailgate is heavier than one strut can cope with, so will be quite heavy if you're not expecting it.
-
It's in the spoiler and squirts down... Mine stopped working and it ended up being the rubber hose coming apart in front of the battery. I had to re-attach it and use a cable tie to stop it coming apart again.

Thanks Neil. They won't look much different to be honest, well not enough to tell. Mine arrived today and I tried to fit one of them and guess what.... It didn't fit. Well the spring did, but the small rubber end stop wouldn't clear the thread at the end of the strut so I couldn't put the end back on to refit.

I haven't as I usually get free breakdown with my insurance policy...

Which dealer are you using?
-
He references a VW part that looks like a spring loaded rubber stop. I think this gives an extra push and helps the tailgate lift. He seemed to suggest I get one and it will then be ok to use the Mito one I've bought? Unless I've completely mistaken his broken English?

Yes I haven't had any responses to any of my emails either which is very poor indeed! So just to be clear... You have got the Sat Nav aerial haven't you? This one is square (about 40mm) with a self adhesive pad on the back. Is it just the two TV aerials, DVD box and cable to connect that you are missing?

Might look better if everything was colour coded...

It would seem that I have ordered the wrong one after all... Delta springs are out of stock for 3-4 weeks, and just because the idiot lists all cars in every advert they are indeed different for each car!?
-
Well it would seem a few of the Italian Delta owners are having a problem with the panel gaps since fitting the spring. Quote: ''Boys trunk springs mounted in 5 min . Beautiful and useful , but they have a much lower defect ... too ... it 's trunk and extended from the roof and closes flush with the bumper ... hope springs softening and reducing pressure on the hood returns a bit in his position . .. who else has encountered this?'' There are a few replies agreeing and one who mentions the glass too... It will be interesting to see how bad it is and whether it will get better over time as the spring eases...

It's well spec'd for such a cheap unit... I'm just not sure about the HUGE volume control as it might look a bit odd compared with the rest of the switch gear. You'll have to post up some pic's when you get it fitted.

Ryan how have you got on fella? Any joy with the missing aerial and dvb box?

I feel your pain fella! I've had to sell a few cars to fund various life events over the years... and you always regret it afterwards as sometimes you know you'll never find another as good! So have you found any alloys then? I've found a few sets on Italian eBay, but nothing here yet.
-
Hmm there's a lot of cheap Chinese sheet out there... IMO when you use a traditional double din HU the surround looks really bland. If you want to go this route you'd be better off sticking with Kenwood/Garmin or Pioneer nav units

I'll get some better pics posted up soon. Finally found the piano black gear stick surround to match the head unit and climate control so it will all match...

Well mine was headed Mito so hoping its the same size spring.
-
Yeah fairly straight forward plug and play with a bit of common sense thrown in for good measure. Happy to give you a hand if you take the plunge.

You could have found some semi naked babes spread across the car...

I ordered the Mito one in the link I posted above... Please tell me its the right one as it states about 6 cars in the eBay listing?

p.s. the 2.2 suffers from a hesitation flat spot on take off which is really annoying and can cause problems when pulling out of junctions. You can drive 'around' it, but the best option is to have it remapped out and fit an induction kit as they do sound dull. The V6 isn't a bad unit but is very quiet in its delivery and not a patch on the older Busso V6 in the previous generation cars. Having said all that I do love the Brera, and the Prodrive collaboration did make for some nice tweaks to the suspension weight, ride, wheels and exhaust back boxes. They still look very 'exclusive' now! The rear seats aren't really for passengers unless your Mrs is small like mine and someone can sit behind... However the boot is a good size and the Bose hi-fi upgrade works well too!
-
Yeah me too lol... Although the delivery says the 4th March!!
-
Very nice indeed! I'm a bit of a caroholic in truth especially when it comes to Italy... I even got married there and had an old Spider for my wedding car. The Brera wasn't petrol unfortunately as I used to do 40k plus business miles. It was the 2.4 5 cylinder diesel running massive power. 290+bhp, 502nm torque!

Tyre wear isn't as bad as the forums will let you believe tbh... Set the camber to zero and the car still drives well but with even wear. I've had two 159 ti's and a Brera with 19'' ti alloys and whilst larger are obviously more expensive I've managed decent miles between tyre change. Here's my old babies:
