Yep Fiat obviously bought every last Meta alarm system they could find! Doesn't matter whether it's a Maserati Gran Turismo or a bloody 0.9 Twinair Fiat 500!
-
Get you! Down with kids with words like 'Stance' :D
-
Yeah we definitely should make more of an effort! Would be good to meet up! Is there anything you particularly fancy going to? In the mean time is there anywhere we could meet up that's central for a pub lunch or coffee? Quite fancy escaping for a few hours one Sat or Sun...
-
Ok well that's good to know. I might very well buy one of the ones off eBay then with the toolkit.
-
Yeah have used Eibach Pro and Sportline kits before, but usually with new dampers too like Koni DSG's so know only too well about road bum as we call it! What part of Wales are you from? I love the Welsh roads as they are generally amazing compared to ours. Especially North and Mid Wales!
-
Wow £130 for a full set of Eibach Pro springs! Bargain!! So what's it like over speed bumps with a 30mm drop? I bet it corners level too...
-
Ah ok, so I'm presuming the height of the sidewall on the tyre compensates for the fact it's a smaller rim? Or as it's only designed as a temp doesn't it matter?
-
Ha and who can blame them! I wouldn't mind if it was a nice tone, but it's shrills annoyingly instead. There was a cheat also that could activate it by pressing certain buttons on the dash, but I couldn't get that to work either unlike on the Brera, spider and 159 I've owned where it worked a treat. It's the same alarm and yet something is different??
-
Yey glad you got it sorted and it was an easy fix! Like Neil says regarding your fan, check the thermostat first! Once your car is up to temp does it sit exactly at 90 (half way) or is it lower like about 80? Cheap fix if it's just a thermostat! As for the alarm beeps you need a local Fiat/Alfa/Lancia specialist! With examiner they can change the country code which is in the alarm menu to Holland? I say Holland but can't exactly remember as it's that long ago since I last did it on one of my Alfa's. I did try a few months ago with the Delta, but Nigel my Master Tech couldn't find it in the menu! He was using a 'toughbook' laptop with the Fiat ECU software rather than the proper Examiner touch screen the main dealerships use, so maybe that's not got it?
-
Wow that was lucky, so was that off a UK Delta then? Just out of interest what size was the space saver? Most on fleabay seem to 14 or 15'' at about £40 and then they jump to £80/£90 for a 16''. I've not seen anything bigger at all?
-
Did you mean to reply Luke?
-
Yep I look occasionally when I remember, but have only seen 16'' or smaller space savers, and couldn't remember the formula for rolling road radius to work out which was best as they differ quite a bit in price... ...and haven't really seen my exact alloy wheel for sale, just some Fiat ones that are a slightly different pattern. Will keep looking.
-
Ah that's good to hear - Sounds like we're all of similar opinion and position. Just out of interest did you get a space saver and if so what size rim, or did you go for a proper alloy wheel?
-
This is why forums are great - collective knowledge shared and we can diagnose anything!
-
Hi Luke and welcome to the Delta section fella! It's always difficult to diagnose faults over the internet but there could be several things going on here... It could be something simple like transmission fluid level low, or needs changing, or brake pedal switch? Best to get that checked out at a Fiat/Alfa specialist. I'm not too familiar with the auto box as have never really liked auto cars... In regards to the fan coming on, this is usual if you are running your air-con permanently. Try turning it off and you will notice the fan doesn't come on until the car is up to temperature.
-
I wonder if it's just had a hiccup with you disconnecting the terminal while you worked on it? Might be worth disconnecting it again for 10 mins to if you can reset it that way?
-
Are you still happy with yours Alan? Any plans for 2017?
-
Yep I echo Neil's friendly welcome! We're quite a minority here in the UK, and even more so being tucked away in the deepest darkest corner of a Chrysler (shudders) forum! We're all Italian nuts, and have had a plethora of Italian exotica (and ahem the not so exotic), so If you need any help one of should be able to cover it...
-
Well good luck with the Coupe sale when you finally get around to it. It'll fly as they are becoming very desirable now especially one as nice as yours! I just wish I could afford it!! Glad you're keeping the Delta. Mine has been far better than I ever thought it would be, hence me not in any hurry to move it on. I have a feeling it's going to cost me money in the near future though, as it approaches five years old, although having said that it's only just passed the 40k marker, so still a baby from that perspective. Great price that for a belt/pump change!! Even my mates rates aren't that good! I've just paid £60 for the full kit (Gates) inc water pump, and the labour charge is £150, so didn't think £210 all in was that bad until you said yours!! Having said that though I wouldn't sway Nigel for anyone... He's been a total star with my stock cars for sale. Complete PDI (120 point check) plus fluid/filter service for £95. It's not often you get a Master Tech to work on your car, as in most garages you'd get the junior mechanic while they sat in the office drinking coffee!!
-
Ha-ha I can tell!! I hope the screwdriver doesn't dislodge at motorway speed or you'll be responsible for a guided (or should that be un-guided) missile!
-
No not had that problem - Like you say it's probably a sensor under the seat. Might be worth checking it's not just a loose connection or plug that's not quite seated right.
-
Ha-ha sorry to laugh but if I had a quid for every time I've cut my hands changing bulbs of Italian cars I'd be rich! Sometimes I pay one of the lads from Halfords £3 to fit them as it's a lot less hassle!!!
-
Ah that's good to hear... I wondered whether the 500x was still on the cards and whether it was arrivederci to the Delta or not. So is the 500x a future purchase or you going to run both? I've just priced up the Gates Cambelt complete kit at £59..99, and the water pump is around £32, so not bad all in! Just waiting on Nige to confirm fitting and we're good to go! I had the oil and filter changed when the turbo was rebuilt last year, but might as well get it all done again at the same time. You still got the Fiat Coupe or did you sell it?
-
Have you opened the flap and then given it a good wiggle up and down so that it re-seats the hinge? Also try some electrical contact cleaner in the lock side too...
-
Just wanted to wish all my fellow Delta owners a happy, healthy and fun filled new year! Have you any plans for your Delta this year? I'm due a Cambelt asap, has anyone done theirs yet? I was also toying with the idea of selling it, and getting another Alfa, but after doing a 700 mile return journey from Eastbourne over the Christmas break, I'm not sure it's worth selling as it still fulfils most of my needs.
