Hi Lindzy, sorry can't help with Peterborough as I'm in Cheshire, and the only other I know is in Birmingham AKA Motormech that Nello uses. Or maybe a bit nearer is Autolusso in Dunstable? http://www.autolusso.co.uk/services.html They are highly regarded in the Alfa world and are roughly an hour from you. As Andrew says as the water pump is driven by the belt it only makes sense to change it at the same time as they already have the car stripped down. It's only and extra two bolts to undo and the cost of the pump is fairly cheap.

Loud Clicking Noise Climate Control Area Of Dash!?
MikeyRules replied to MikeyRules's question in Chrysler Delta
Right just found a Climate Control reset procedure and followed it through with a positive result! Here for those who may need it in the future!! CLIMATE CONTROL SELF-LEARNING PROCEDURE The AUTO and MONO buttons must be pressed simultaneously within 40 seconds of the ignition being turned to the ON position in order to active this procedure. A few seconds later a figure will appear on the display (in place of the driver's side set temperature) which will count down to indicate the time remaining before the start of the procedure. At the same time (i.e. whilst the count down is taking place) the previous self-learning status is signalled on the passenger temperature setting: '1' flashes if the previous self-learning procedure failed. '0' indicates that the previous self-learning procedure was successful. This procedure is not carried out if at least one of the above mentioned buttons is released whilst the figure on the left hand side is not zero (this is designed to check the outcome of the previous self-learning procedure). Exiting the procedure zeroes the 40 second counting period from when the ignition is switched ON, to allow the procedure to be repeated without having to switch the ignition OFF. Each time a new control unit is fitted, the flap actuator learning test must be carried out using the diagnostic equipment and the unit must be personalized through programming. -
Loud Clicking Noise Climate Control Area Of Dash!?
MikeyRules replied to MikeyRules's question in Chrysler Delta
Andrew I think you're right! If I press the recirc button it does stop after a second or two. But if I press it again to allow outside in it starts again for about 10/15 seconds. I've found some of the threads on the Fiat forum, but the ones I've seen are talking about replacing the whole heater box!! Gulp! -
If the kit specifies it's for the 1.6 or 2.0ltr diesel the front springs will just be stiffer for the extra weight of the diesel engine over the lighter multi-air unit. So in other words they should fit perfectly just be stronger. I'm on my phone so haven't looked at the link recently... Perhaps give them a call?

Yeah I know what you mean about roundabouts... The IGO is really bad at updating quickly enough at roundabouts so it's not always clear which exit to take as the map sometimes hasn't caught up with the actual position of the car! I'm not sure I can be bothered to route the unit as it's too slow. I have used APK files before now side loaded, and that gets around the android version and tablet problem for some apps, but again a painful experience... I'm using a Garmin in the corner of the windscreen like you know for long journeys for the very same reasons.

As the title suggest... I have a loud clicking sound almost like a cog slipping coming from the Climate control unit when I first turn on the ignition!?? It goes away after about 15-20 seconds. My climate working fine, ice cold or warm and the fan operates as it should, so I'm a bit bewildered as to what's going on. Any ideas chaps?

You've lost me slightly... Are you saying you want to fit an Eibach Pro kit designed for the diesel Delta instead of petrol rated springs?

Hi Mike, thx for the offer re new versions of IGO. I've stopped using IGO as all versions seem to have an inherent fault where they takes ages to find any satellites and therefore locate your position! I've had about 3 different versions and the internet is full of people complaining about the same issue. I never did manage to get into the hidden settings menu as the supplier didn't have a clue and I gave up trying to find the manufacturer in China. The other issues are that the units RAM is too small really, and it can be slow if you have too many Apps installed, plus it's only running version 4.2 of Android with no way of upgrading to a later version, and to make matters worse it's the tablet version so some Apps aren't compatible... All that aside it does the basics well but think if I was doing it all again I'd go down the tried and tested route of using Kenwood or Pioneer head units which use Garmin navigation.

No in fact I'd recommend using a good Indy as their labour rates will be much cheaper! Whereabouts are you? We may be able to recommend somewhere...
-
Yes it is. Mine was a standard radio/cd head unit, and now it's the double din Navplus. The cables are the main issue in that the new loom is bulky and is in the way when you push the new unit home into the double din hole. Space for the cables is tight and you have to try and tuck them further into the dash in order for the head unit to completely seat properly. I must admit I don't really remember any problems, or specifically removing the single din cage either as it was a few years ago now. But I've fitted load of double din units over the years and don't remember this being any more awkward than any other.

Yeah I'm with Rosso... Definitely sounds like the brake pedal switch in regards to your brakes staying on. Simple and quick to fix too! As for the airbag I doubt that would be related, so best get the codes read to see if there's an underlying issue, and get any legacy codes removed too. Also at the same time get the 2 service indicators (Oil degradation and time) reset as well. I doubt very much that not having the service indicators reset has caused anything to be honest, just bad timing. One other thing I'd check out is the battery health. Quite often when a battery is coming to the end of it life you get a few weird warning (and unrelated ones) lights appear.

I'd have thought if you advertised it on the Fiat Coupe forum and poss Carsandclassic.co.uk it would go quite quickly given it's history and condition. There's always a few for sale, but non quite as nice as yours!
-
Yeah I saw your for sale pics on fb... Looks beautiful! You had any bites yet?
-
Yeah mines similar to Nello's too!
-
I can't find any for sale apart from one breaker selling some fubared ones for £400 with cracked tyres...I'd love some along with some Eibach pro's with a 30mm drop! Keep yer eyes peeled and let me know if you see some!!
-
They look nice in grey!
-
Ouch... Sounds like you've made the right choice though! When I looked at a new turbo for mine they were upwards of £700, but as you know I was lucky and got it refurbed. So I take it that's the 500x shelved then as a result of the above? I was keeping an eye out for you, but was finding the dealers trying to keep them in the FCA network, so few and far between did any appear in the trade. To be honest the ones that did weren't any cheaper as most were achieving a grand over CAP clean!!

Here you go:http://www.navplus.it/12-navigatori-2-din-specifici I thought they'd gone bust at first, but managed to find the website eventually!

Erm....Nope! Have you got the part number off the old unit? Might be worth googling to see what comes up? There's bound to be some somewhere!

How To Activate The Hill Hold Control?
MikeyRules replied to pstavropoulos's question in Chrysler Delta
You'd have to be pretty daft to let the car roll back or a bad driver... I really don't understand the problem as you can tell immediately if it's going to hold or whether you need to apply the handbrake. The end is nigh... We're all doomed Victor! -
Ah that makes sense... I sell a few Punto's mainly 3 door 'Easy' spec as they pretty much have every conceivable extra, but oddly not that feature!
-
I'd rather cut my head off and poo down the hole than take my car to a Halfrauds!
-
Yeah I've owned most of them!! Punto's don't have it either which is strange as they're usually really well spec'd. Haven't tried the misses Mito yet...

Thanks for the Invite fella, it looks like a great show. As Neil says would love to go, but have just paid out for my annual trip to Italy, so maybe another year! Post some pic's if you can... be great to see it!
