  1. Hi Delboy and welcome to Delta ownership fella! It's ages since I did mine... think I was the first in fact... Anyway from memory once you've located the holes in the back and pierced through as they are underneath the leather it's just a matter of feeling for the bars and then pushing until they release. I do have an airbag tool, but am pretty sure on the Delta I just used a flat blade screwdriver. One side wasn't as stiff as the other either.
  2. Hi Scooby, sorry I've not been on for a few days... Right the unit you've got from that shyster at ACD breakers had the loom hacked off as Nello said earlier which is why you're having a nightmare trying to get it connected. I didn't buy it for that very reason, plus the car was in a right state, and the fascia of the head-unit wasn't great as it had a fair few scratches on the front and he still wanted stupid money for it... I went for a new Chinese unit made especially for the Delta called Navplus to keep it looking OEM, so being brand new came with the correct ISO loom for plug 'n' play for the power and sound, and the steering wheel loom converter too. It only came with 1 fakra to aerial connection converter, as the other two are for the TV and Nav aerial from memory. I'm not sure how you can fix your problem to be honest as you're missing the loom, and if you can get it, you'll probably have to solder it to the connects2 adapter loom and that's if you can work out the wiring diagram. If it was me, I think I'd be tempted to get a Kenwood or Pioneer double din with Sat Nav as they work far better than factory or the cheap Chinese units.
  3. Yeah mine definitely flash as well as that annoying bleeping... It might be worth giving the boot and bonnet contacts a quick spray with some electrical contact cleaner and seeing if that helps? How's you battery too? Still of the original or have you changed it?
  4. Half leather by the looks of them... But different from my SR, which also has leather 'ribs' running down then.. So it's now been entered into the Auction at Bristol on Tuesday 17th April... start time 10am if anyone's interested.
  5. I've got an OBD2 scanner and to be honest it's a bit ''hit 'n' miss''. Sometimes it's reads the codes and other not. As said most Indy's will read for free especially if you have them fix the issue.
  6. Ah that more Nello's neck of the woods than mine as I'm in the North West, so mine are more around Stockport/Manchester.
  7. I've had that happen before on one of my Alfa's...just can't remember what I did to cure it. I have some memory of it being the bonnet switch, or sudden battery voltage drop? Just can't quite remember which car was which as they all use the same Meta alarm system lol.
  8. Erm it's 'Alfa' with a 'f' if you please! Engine management lights aren't unusual but definitely worth getting the code read, but not at main dealer prices. Where are you based as we may be able to point you in the direction of a specialist who will probably read the code for free. The fault could be absolutely anything as the ELM light is generic for I have a problem...and not necessarily anything to do with the battery.
  9. Where are you based? I pay £50 a wheel usually for the face to be repaired and repainted. If I'm getting all 4 done then I have them stripped completely back to bare metal, and then repaired and powder coated. Again about £200 for all 4.
  10. Yeah they quite often have the second key sent on if it's found... same with the V5 as they've found that too! Momo S is really just cosmetic's. No performance uplift.
  11. Not really Ian... Lets be honest most Delta's couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, so traction on or off isn't really going to make much difference unless you're left foot braking and taking the racing line to Tesco lol!
  12. Yeah but all they do is roll... It's the fronts that get all the stick and wear quickly, and most people at MOT or Service time rotate the tyres front to rear to get even wear.
  13. Yeah hatchback and estate here. Saloons don't tend to sell well here in the budget brand sector, even the premium brands struggle. I get why you bought it, its just given that they're already under 10k at auction the depreciation is quite steep from the off... I just couldn't do that to my wallet... Maybe I'm different but given most cars are financed through the endless loop that is PCP we live in a false economy. Once most people get to car 3 or 4 and it all goes tits up, maybe just maybe it will get investigated like PPI...
  14. Don't agree... It's very unlikely to go for less than Cap Clean to be perfectly honest, and then you have fees on top.... As for the tyres and how most people drive these days, aka dry steer out of parking spots, brake late and drive too fast. Then come service time rears swapped to the front it's easy to go through a set of tyres in almost 4 years. As for the mileage it seems to stack up pretty neatly to be honest. April 14 plate car, and at first service in April 16 its done 9678.First MOT on 23rd April 17 its done 14,797and now nearly one year on is reading 20,639.It's a one owner car bought through FCA own PCP finance scheme. Oh and as for the diesel comment it's a euro 5 engine, so band D with 122g CO2@ £115 for the year so still attractive given the improved mpg over the petrols.
  15. Yeah it's black as I've just HPI'd it... Difficult to say as it's not on a buy it now, instead will be entered into a normal auction. Anything between 4.5k and 5k as that's the difference between CAP average and Clean. (plus auction fees) Given it needs a few quid spending on it you'd hope for about 4,200/4,300, but depends who's in the room or online...
  16. Yes it is tempting given what a bargain these are... It does need to go for the lower end of the market price as it probably needs about a grand spending to make it perfect. I quite like the fact it's a late registered one, and with such low mileage too. I know I've said this before but compare this to a similar spec'd Guilietta and it's a lot of car for the money!
  17. Yes I can see your logic, but you'd have been better buying a used one and saving on some of that early depreciation! There's plenty coming through the auctions, and they're trickling onto the used market now. Personally I prefer the estate over the saloon, just like I do with the Alfa 156/159 SW's... Somehow the design just seems to work better.
  18. I've had hit and miss with those Neil. Some have been fine, others have scraped from day one...
  19. Hi Michael, welcome to the forum! I've not used Fiat Multi-ecu scan for years unfortunately and not at all on the Delta as I have access to Examiner.
  20. I might have done if I knew what you were talking about!?
  21. There's a purple 14 plate 1.6 M-Jet Delta S with 20k on clock coming up for sale at auction soon. I spotted it this morning, so it could be a bargain for someone... It does have a few issues from having a brief look at the blurb...i.e. only 1 key, and no V5. It's due a service and an MOT, needs one new tyre, and all 4 wheels refurbing. Poss some paintwork and a dent removing... The attached condition report also states excessive play at wheels. 22. Oh come on Alan it can't be that difficult to fit them... A man of your means... Talking of said Volumex, it was good to see and hear the engine running. That's go to spur you on surely.
