Do you mean a 60/70's 500 Alan? If so there's no trade options as it all goes to specialist auction or buyers. Plus just too small for what I want really. Yeah I do like some early Jap stuff. The Celica not as much as the Supra or Honda's Integra (DC2), but not sure that's the right direction? I've had Italian cars for so long now they're part of my DNA.

Yeah not sure it's worth the hassle to be honest Andrew. I'm pretty picky and given the criteria it needs to be straight and had most if not all of the achilleas' heels fixed already... At a 'bag of sand' It gonna be pooe!

I believe the average for the 595 is around 31mpg. One of my friends has owned one for just over a year and that was inline with some other club members. He's just had it remapped and it's mental now, plus got rid of a flat spot too.

Argh I would have loved a Coupe as nice as yours. I've always had a soft spot for them and an LE would have been the icing on the cake. I've always been a bit worried that sub 5k on a Coupe I would be buying someone else's problems...and presumed even if it was ok it would be expensive to maintain as most of them are a bit leggy mileage and condition wise now. So have I got that wrong then? Would it be less of a headache than I think? I've considered similar age GTV's, and they have quite a few well known issues like chocolate suspension, dangerous heated rear windows, rotten spring pans etc, not to mention oil hungry twin spark engines, or thirsty busso's with expensive belt changes. Still love them though and are on my list of possibles.

As the topic states...Is there even such a thing?? I know this isn't strictly Delta related, but hey we ain't even Chrysler related and yet we're still here!! Now gather round my Italian friends! So I've had this little dream for a while, and it goes a little something like this: Basically I'd like something preferably cheapish say under 5 grand, that's cool, retro and fun to drive as a daily. Needs to be relatively easy to maintain, ideally seat 4 passengers, (but if say half the budget I may get away with a two seater) ideally needs to hold it's value so that If I have to get shut I get my return back. Can be anything Italian so Fiat, Alfa, Lancia, although the latter is highly unlikely to be in budget. Any ideas/thoughts/considerations? I do also like anything leftfield too... No poo I hear you say, you own a Delta!! So potentially something leftfield if not Italian...

I think the poor fuel consumption is pretty well documented to be fair... surely that wasn't part of the criteria lol, as you've left diseasel for petroleum spirit!

Slightly jealous of the fun factor! Whilst I think the Delta is a great allrounder, I do miss something throaty and a rocket throttle! Good on ya fella, and glad you're enjoying it too! Give us a price for that spare set of wheels will you?

Hi Guys, could do with some help regarding the lower door plastic trim? My trouble and strife opened the front passenger door over a high kerb and then got in. As you can imagine the door was then stuck on the pavement and she then proceeded to try and shut it! I then noticed what she was trying to do and made her get out of the car. She's managed to scrape a bit of paint off the underside leading edge, and also snap some of the lugs that hold the plastic trim that runs across the bottom of the door. Has anybody had one of these off, or can access EPER and show me an exploded diagram with part numbers? I guess failing that I'll have to use some tiger seal or stickaflex to bond it back onto the door. It's not come off, just very loose...

Ha-ha I've heard of a satellite delay, but that's ridiculous! Can't say I've ever heard of JB Weld, but obviously sticks like sheet to a blanket lol... I love the fact that handle's are available from Taiwan... So VERY Italian then!! :lol:

Did mine last year (1.6jtdm) @ 44k and 5 years old. (Done on time rather than miles) Bought a Gates kit including water pump for about £70, and my tech fitted it for £150.

Normally I would be very inclined to agree with you, having inspected lots of allegedly grade 1 cars, that are more like grade 3/4! However if the tyres aren't manufacturer specification i.e Pirelli, Goodyear, Michelin or Continental they will always mark them up as budget.

Another two Delta's up for auction... A black 1.6 SR, 55K, 3 stamps, last at 48628, both keys, V5, book pack etc. Dent on rear nearside quarter, all 4 wheels need a refurb, but good tyre depth, and a couple of scuffs to both bumpers. Located at Auction4cars Second one at Manheim is a white 12 plate 1.6SE (So lower spec), 70k, 2 keys, V5 and book pack. 3 stamps, all Chrysler with last at 56242 as at May 15. Minor chips, 4 wheel refurb required and a bit of uneven tyre wear. -

Oh that's a bummer! What was wrong with it, and why haven't they put it right? Main dealer I take it? Having worked in the trade, I have to say that's the last place I'd buy a car from as the prep is usually shocking! They pay the valet team £3 a car, use poo product by untrained Eastern European's as they work for nothing, and hope what you don't spot on collection will become down to you! Are you paying cash, or using dealer finance?

The problem you have is a good refurb is £200, then if they need tyres too it makes them not worth buying as the cost becomes prohibited.

Oh I wish I'd of known about the wheels... I'd have had those off you in a heart beat!! I've just forked out for 4 new 225/45/R17's for mine on Friday, and although they only cost me £260 all in, it was £260 I could have done without spending!
