  1. Thank you. Ours needed is driver side the cover lens broken and in turn part of the led lighting gone too. I need to order RIGHT side don't I which is classed as our driver side ? thanks
  2. We added extra oil in, so now roughly 5.2l went in. Followed your instructions @@SpAwNtoHell and testing on hot after a good 20 mins drive came in around 38-40 so hopefully this job is done now. Checked sump pan and doesn't look like it's leaking now so third time luckily I guess. Thanks for guidance. On to the next job now.
  3. And us But would also help kids (little at the moment and pushing them in). If anyone knows of a seller for the stow n go please post. Thanks
  4. Thanks for this @@SpAwNtoHell Been working a lot today and only just back home so will look at doing this tomorrow night when my husband gets home. Good idea about a custom dipstick, sure would make things a lot easier. Will let you know how we get on. Thanks
  5. Thanks @@SpAwNtoHell Will swap over the seal and see if that helps. It was forming a slow drip but not dripping to floor rather forming and hanging. As for the colour of old filter, the outside was caked in rust and dirt, the inside filter from what I could see through those holes almost looked black !
  6. Hi Fuel filter changed but there seems to be some sweating from the sensor which is connected to the filter - any ideas please ? I wasn't around when my husband changed this, but he said the old one came out very easily by hand screwing it out. The new one he removed the top screw in piece which I think he means where the sensor sits, fitted it and used one go with a filter turn tool for tighten gently - he then re fitted the sensor. Did the turn of key but not starting engine to fill the filter to get air out - did this several times, started car, idle and it didn't cut out. Restarted engine fine and idled for a good 5-6 minutes no problem. When he got a clean sheet from the blue roll, there was sweat where the sensor sits. Do you think he missed something out or is the sensor bit leaking in which case we'd need a new one ? Any ideas, suggestions very welcome. Thanks
  7. Hi This post regards a Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD2008 @@SpAwNtoHell OMGoodness, what a right mare we have had with this. We began Saturday late afternoon for about 3 hours and then from Sunday 10ish right through to 8.30pm and still not complete. Luckily still have our old Astra to run kids around. First observation, the pan was already having a slight leakage at one side, so this job needed to happen. So my husband unbolted and carefully using the spatula (wallpaper scraper), slowly tried to release the pan - the oil actually burst out of the sides of the pan and then the pan landed in the oil pan catcher with my husband hands holding it to stop it from getting damaged, was covered, literally an oil bath. Cleaned up, removed old silicone etc, degreased with the brake cleaner away from the car naturally. We took our time and did not rush so was super careful with every process. First attempt: We used that Grenville Gasket sealer and followed technique for putting pan back. Didn't look like any leaks initially, but when we topped up with the new oil and then worked the gears - following the instruction which came with the dipstick - it started to leak in the same place where we noticed before starting this job. Obviously couldn't carry on, at this point already put in about 3.5l of oil. Removed pan carefully, he left two bolts loose this time so it didn't come away sharply like first removal. We caught all the oil in a clean pan as no room for error only bought in what you linked. Second attempt: Cleaned up as before, degreased and dry surfaces to work with. This time we only used the rubber gasket which came with the filter kit. We put the caught oil back in through a cloth muslin strainer to catch all the bits which were airbourne landing in the pan - this worked well and we saw this technique on youtube when someone had a similar problem. Again waited, followed instruction for dipstick and within minutes the oil was weeping through a different side of the pan Third attempt. Removed, cleaned and used the silicone and gently placed the rubber gasket over and then fitted pan - so far so good doesn't seem to be leaking, will need to check again tonight though to be sure. So the amount of oil to use ? We bottled up in 2l pop bottles the old oil which came out and that filled 2 x 2l bottles and an inch in another, bearing in mind floor and hubby got covered too - so we thinking it drained out a lot to at least 4.5l. We have put back in 4.5l as this is what we think came out. Warmed engine, worked gears and did the dipstick. Confusion sets in here : The engine was on half way temperature as we did leave engine running, hubby drove for 5 mins up the road, came home and we dip sticked which came out about 20mm. However, we have no idea temperature of the oil - the pan underneath felt hot and the engine was boiling (burn hot) so had to be careful with the dipstick testing. We don't know how to interpret how much more to put in. Do we buy a tool to somehow measure the temperature of the transmission oil ? If so, do you know please which tool we need ? Any other technique that can help us determine how much more we put in ? Many thanks
  8. Hi Yes, same setup as yours. I played around tonight and put a movie in the top and one in the ves at the bottom, managed to get two movies working, one on on flip down screen and other on the other flip down. Kids are well chuffed lol. Going to order the headphones you linked and will also order remote from the link I posted earlier. It is the exact image of ours and seller has confirmed just now that he has tested and all working fine. Will let you know how it goes. As for maintenance, silicone arrived today so definitely getting on with fuel filter change followed by transmission filter/oil change. We've read through your notes and watched a few youtubes. Still waiting on that dvd to arrive though, hoping it will come soon. Getting their slowly ! but love the car and have already flattened all rear seats and used as van to bring furniture back to house. Win win I think. Thanks
  9. @@SpAwNtoHell This is a link on ebay for the remote which is spot on identical. Thinking of ordering one to see if it works: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281800787645?ViewItem=&item=281800787645
  10. Hi Not sure about the twin dvd thing, we have the standard setup, so two screens in roof the ves unit up from but low down which is where I put the movie disc in and the screen in dash I believe can take another disk (I thought music). Unsure how to use it all yet but when I checked out the 4 headphones and the remote only have two working headphones, rest is dead. That's the problem with buying from the States, custom fees make it a lot more expensive. Thanks for the links. Let me know if you get a working remote, thanks.
  11. Hi everyone. We have a Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD 2008 - recently. Checking this entertainment system, it came with 4 headphones and 1 remote. Can't get remote to work and 2 of the headphones don't work either. Has anyone tried any aftermarket remotes and headphones which work with this system? How do you pair remote/headphones when bought. I need to get at least one remote and 2 headphones so I have 4 working (4 kids). Any info welcome. Oh I have seen this listing for original but will cost a fortune - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151304506735?ViewItem=&item=151304506735 and my headphone code is 05107082AC and this is upgraded, presumably will still work. thanks
  12. I saw these thanks, have contacted the seller to see if they fit our vehicle as in listing compatible models were petrol. Have you changed one of these yourself? Does the mirror just pop off to get access to push out the broken indicator? Many thanks
  13. Thanks for the input. Was thinking of garage job for the cambelt work but try and do the service to save money. Have trolley jack and axle stands which take 3 t each. Can you please point me in the direction of the pollen filter location? Assuming this car has one and also needs changing. I looked under the glove box passenger side but that is the pull switch for bonnet and nothing but carpet. As for gearbox didn't know there was a filter to change there too. If I put my reg number into a car parts shop online, will it give me the correct oil I need to use or do I have to go to specialist for this ? I have tried looking for a Haynes manual but can't seem to find one for this year and diesel, does such a manual exist which I could purchase and work from? Sorry for all the questions just getting into doing car stuff at home so on a learning curve. Thanks
